Bachelor talk: this is the true nature of the women
Episode 11

Last week, Rien tried to shock us by coming up with a piece of news that we had actually all seen coming for weeks. Despite the fact that many of us doubted whether he might actually tell Paul that he turned out to be his great love (given Paul's exaggerated shocked reaction), Rien indeed just said that he wanted to run off with Femke. Eline hopes that with Rien and his women leaving, she can spend more time with Paul. I don't quite understand this logic, unless the dates were really as short as we saw, because the camera crew had to move on to Rien.
This week, we will have family and friends of the women visiting. The best way to see if someone really fits you is to let them meet the people closest to you. Eline's friend is really the same type as she is, with Yvonne I have to look a bit harder for the connection, but we can't doubt that Josephine's mother is really her mother. Those eyes are exactly the same. I think it's a good plan to let a critical mother observe.
Just like ‘click’, ‘opening up’ is a word that comes up regularly. Especially Yvonne struggles with that opening up; she is actually just done with it and feels like going home. Fortunately, that negative vibe is briefly broken, as we get to watch how cozy Rien and Femke have it together. Besides Rien saying three times how nice he finds it that Femke is there, not many words are exchanged between the two. Well, he also lets her know that it's her fault he forgets to shave. I hope for Femke that he is only talking about his beard.
Back in the women's villa, we get to see how emotional Josephine becomes during the reunion with her mother. I have never felt so much compassion for Josephine before, and I think this also makes an impression on family man Paul. When Eline then goes on a date with Paul and her best friend, she feels the need to let her friend know that she is disappointed that she is once again not alone with Paul, ‘but it's nice that you're here, though’. And that's what you come all the way to Zanzibar for. Yvonne and her BFF have a more fun date with Paul: they go for cocktails and karaoke. It doesn't look completely relaxed, but I finally see Yvonne loosening up and showing a cheerful side of herself.
The next morning, Paul gets to have breakfast with his hungover head with Josephine and her mother. For Paul, it's the moment to put Josephine in the spotlight. However, he realizes at some point that it might be a bit too much of a good thing; it starts to look like he mainly wants to impress her mother. He also hopes that Josephine will resemble her mother later on.
There is no rose ceremony. Paul tells the ladies one-on-one who gets to go on a 24-hour date. Without a doubt, he chooses Josephine because they click. I am very happy that the word ‘click’ has made its comeback. The choice between Yvonne and Eline is a bit trickier. With Yvonne, he could get along. Personally, that wouldn't really be a sufficient reason for me to start a relationship with someone. Paul realizes that too, as he chooses to send Yvonne home. But she doesn't let that happen easily: she decides to use the moment to put Eline in a bad light. She says that Eline can't give him what he needs and that he will discover all her bad sides, which Yvonne has already witnessed when Paul wasn't around. When she returns to the other women, she adds even more. ‘He's going for someone he has already kissed’ and: ‘I'm looking for a man who makes better choices’, followed by the softening words: ‘Just kidding, haha!’ I don't know the motivation behind this, but it seems like an unpleasant vibe, just before your exit from the villa after all those weeks. Secretly, I am very curious if it really went down differently outside the cameras. Give us some juice!
Next week, after the 24-hour dates, Paul has to choose who he will give his final rose to. If I had to guess, I think he will go for Eline, simply because he finds her more exciting. Somehow, it still doesn't feel like Paul is really ready to settle down with a safe choice like Josephine.
