Bachelor talk: vibes are being felt

When the episode ended last week with Paul and his little garlic mountain's preview, I wondered one thing all week: what is Paul cooking and why so much garlic? But before we get the answer to that question, we need to start at the beginning.

Vibes are being felt. Big vibes, but also small vibelets. The women in the house are extensively analyzing who exactly has a vibe with one of the men. And the rule is: whoever has a vibe cannot go on a date. The women with the biggest vibes are left behind when a ‘spicy date’ is planned in the tropical rainforest of Zanzibar.

Deborah finally got to go on a date and quickly realized that she didn't want to accept any roses from these men. Perhaps the moment when Rien decided that Rowan had to lick herbs off his finger was decisive, who can say. After the spicy date, peppercorns are taken for the stay-behinds, who respond moderately enthusiastically to this little souvenir.

And then it gets really spicy: after the herb tasting, it turns out that both Paul and Rien have each chosen one woman for what is ‘Netflix & chill’. Paul thinks that Josefien is ‘exactly the right dose of a person you need’. What this exactly means and when someone is too much ‘dose of a person’, we are still researching at the editorial office. Rien has chosen Femke to lie in bed with him.

Paul and Rien do not hide the fact that they mainly find it important that the women look good: Paul has ordered Josefien in a red bikini and Rien thinks ‘that short skirt with those long boots’ of Femke is hot. The men's strategy seems carefully coordinated: first telling these ladies with which other women you feel a strong connection, so that they almost feel compelled to kiss you to stay in the game longer. Mission accomplished, as there is extensive tongue action. Even with Paul and Josefien, despite the bowl full of raw garlic at dinner.

The next day, a festive pool party is planned again; the perfect moment to send a few women home, think Rien and Paul. Deborah is ahead of the men, she chooses to go home due to lack of vibes. And after a conversation with Rien in his Tarzan costume, it’s also time for Jip to pack her suitcase. Because the women have more connection with each other than with the men, it is especially emotional for them to say goodbye to the group.

Rien and Paul enjoy sending women in bikinis home so much that they decide to pretend that even more women have to go home today. Maybe it was really the case at first, but they didn't dare anymore when they made eye contact with Beate. I look forward to next week's date; in the preview, I thought I saw Paul getting punched in his private parts.
