If anyone's 2024 started off extremely well, it's definitely for The Bear star Jeremy Allen White.

He captured the hearts of many in the first week of January with his super sexy Calvin Klein campaign, after which he also got to embrace his second Golden Globe for ‘Best Actor’ for his role as chef Carmy in The Bear in week 2 of this normally quite mediocre month. And yes... That's where the fuss began. Journalists asked him during the press conference immediately after his win almost exclusively about his shoot in boxers. Questions like: ‘When you're on the red carpet and talking to us, how surreal is it that people talk more about your six-pack than about your powerful and amazing performances?’ and: ‘Are you prouder of your Golden Globe win or your Calvin Klein campaign?’ were all over the place. How did JAW respond? Uncomfortably. ‘I'm proud of both, but my award is a bigger pride.’

Is it actually okay to drool over Jeremy Allen White's Calvin Klein campaign? That's the #1 question that has made Calvin Klein's latest campaign go viral in one fell swoop. Because honestly: shouldn't we find this just as terrible as when a woman is judged on her appearance instead of her achievements? Can we cheer for men for having a nice body – and not for women?

Of course, there's nothing wrong with admiring a handsome man in underwear. I mean: Jeremy isn't posing with that toned six-pack on a billboard for nothing... What it's really about? Men also want to be taken seriously. And although women unfortunately see much harsher versions of this day in and day out, some of which can even be violent and others that can definitely be next level, this is certainly a wise lesson for everyone who only sees flames in front of their eyes, although you might have meant that only as a compliment. Let's at least take the wise words of Ryan Gosling into account when he was asked about the situation: ‘It's time for us as men to stand on the receiving end of the stick.’ And hey... You there, good looking. You're beautiful inside and out. There, that should be said too, right?
