It's already October, so spooky season has officially begun. Whether you're going to a Halloween party or turning on a horror movie at home, cocktails make everything better. Of course, they should be completely on theme. We gathered the five tastiest spooky cocktails that will make your evening just a little bit scarier.

Vampire Cosmo

This bloody drink is perfect for all vampire fans. It's mostly the standard Cosmopolitan we all know and love, but with a little Halloween twist. Here are the ingredients: 30 ml vodka, 20 ml triple sec, 10 ml cranberry juice, 20 ml pomegranate juice, and some ice. Mix the vodka, triple sec, and cranberry juice with some ice in a shaker or large glass and pour it into a martini glass. To really make it a spooky drink, we add the pomegranate juice. But in style. Pour the juice into a plastic syringe and place it in the glass; you can easily buy these at places like Kruidvat. The blood-red juice gives just that extra vampire feeling. Ready for Halloween!

Brew Witch Project

Time to make your own witch's brew. Of course, it can be in a cauldron, but a regular glass works too. This potion is very easy to make. Mix 30 ml melon liqueur with the juice of half a lemon and a tiny bit of absinthe. Don't worry, 1 or 2 drops is enough. This gives a creepy bright green color. To finish it off, you can choose Halloween candy for the garnish. What that is, is entirely up to you. A few fun suggestions: sour worms, candy eyeballs, or jelly spiders.

Drunk Ghost

Maybe this is a bit how you feel at the end of the evening, but it's definitely a spooky cocktail. What do you need? 60 ml Malibu, 30 ml vanilla vodka, 60 ml coconut cream, and 120 ml Sprite. Fill a glass with ice and add the Malibu, vanilla vodka, and coconut cream. Mix everything well together. Then strain the mixture into a new glass. Top it off with the Sprite. The drink is already spooky white, but could use an extra touch. With a bit of creativity, you can cut a marshmallow into the shape of a ghost. The perfect finishing touch.

Poison Apple Cocktail

Snow White isn't really a Halloween story, but the poisoned apple fits in well. The Poison Apple Cocktail cannot be missing at your party. For this cocktail, you only need five ingredients: 10 ml apple cider, 10 ml cranberry juice, 60 ml fireball, 30 ml grenadine, and lastly, the key ingredient, a quarter teaspoon of edible glitter. Yes, really, glitter. You can just get it at the supermarket. Mix everything in a shaker (or glass), add ice, and shake it well. Pour it into a glass and voilà. Your sparkly cocktail.

Monster Mash Margaritas

Last but not least, the somewhat stronger Monster Mash Margarita. Just like a classic margarita, this cocktail contains tequila. For one drink, you need 60 ml. Then add 30 ml Cointreau, 120 ml blood orange juice, 30 ml simple syrup, and 30 ml lime juice. Mix everything well together and pour it into a glass with ice. To really make it a Halloween cocktail, we add some garnish. You can choose a slice of blood orange, a sprig of rosemary, or a candy eyeball. Happy Spooky Season!
