Expedition debrief: suddenly I have Hamza in sight
Episode 14

It was time for a voluntary departure again! Jamie may seem like a quieter type, not really present on the island and just fine to have around, but she turns out to be a really good conversationalist as well. I only realized this when she chose to sacrifice herself for Ramon. Her plan to get herself voted out ultimately succeeded, but it does go against Ouassima's dream. During the island council, Jamie received a lot of kind words from everyone. Apparently, without us stay-at-homes noticing anything, very close friendships have formed.
Just a few things that I found very striking
On Ouassima’s birthday, a cupcake was even shared with everyone. Even though it stressed me out quite a bit (because of germophobia and everyone taking bites from each other's saliva, and I was also worried if there would be enough for everyone: the bites taken were HUGE!), I thought it was very sweet that she wanted to share that with everyone. During the challenge, I really gained respect for Hamza, who managed to stay in between those two strong athletes with his thin body, and even managed to motivate them to keep going in that position. Of course, my love for Kiran was further strengthened when he gave up and let Nouchka win. What a sweetheart he is. When he was taken to Winner's Island by Nouchka, he was trying to surf with a small wooden plank. I don't know if he needs more likability, but as far as I'm concerned, that meter is now at its max.
I still feel some fear about Timor’s return
And finally, this time it’s not just about Timor. Well, okay, a little bit. Because Nouchka manages to ban ‘king Timor’, as he annoyingly gets called by Nicolette at the island council, from his own island. You would think: ‘ah, now Timor is being brought back down to earth,’ but nothing could be further from the truth. Timor wouldn’t be Timor if he didn’t also give his return to the regular island a narcissistic twist. But despite Timor seeing his return as a grand moment, everything at this island council is still going according to plan. After an exaggerated amount of votes were cast again (once again: where on earth do they come from?!) Jamie leaves the island. It had been so pleasant on the island lately. Timor’s absence created a kind of peace, everything was fair, and there were no real arguments. So the main question is: what will change now that the tyrant is back? Maybe the next island council will already be over, now that they know Timor is not invincible. But first, we need to see how strong his stomach is. Perhaps I’ll skip the next episode, with that eating challenge on the schedule...
