How long does an affair last on average?

The average duration of an affair is quite short, research shows. Look, an affair is not just cheating. It is falling in love with someone else. And that infatuation phase lasts on average 6 to 18 months. In other words: after a year and a half, the fun of that new one is also over.

I can't imagine it: happily married, that first of all, but above all a mother of three young children – I honestly wouldn't know where to find the energy to also flirt and mess around with someone else.
