It's close to Ibiza and it's also Spanish. You also find luxury, sun, and beautiful beaches there. Yes, and trendy beach clubs. Because sorry to say, but Ibiza? A bit been there...

Totally overpriced, just to say something. We have moved on. You quickly pay two hundred euros per person for a little lunch on the beach, and we are not exaggerating with ridiculous large bottles of wine or sixteen courses. No way. Those are the average prices on the island. And so it is time to look further. We are looking for something cool, something nice, and something you just want to return to every year. Ibiza is too expensive and the hype is over. Half of the Netherlands lives there now, too.

So: go to Menorca. At least as beautiful, but totally undiscovered. The island has, just like Ibiza, beautiful bays and azure blue water, but without the large crowds. Menorca has the most beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean, such as Cala Mitjana and Cala Macarella. These secluded coves are surrounded by cliffs and pine trees, and the crystal clear water makes it ideal for snorkeling and swimming. Because Menorca is less popular than Ibiza, the beaches are often less crowded and even deserted outside the high season in summer. Wonderful. Peace for your body.

And yes, there is an incredible amount of glamour and shine to be found. Luxury resorts are abundant and you find trendy restaurants and terraces everywhere. Tip: try local dishes like caldereta de langosta (lobster soup) in a chic restaurant by the coast, like in the charming harbor town of Ciutadella. Want to make it really fancy? The beautiful coastline of Menorca is perfect for a private sailing trip. Rent a yacht or catamaran and discover hidden bays and unspoiled beaches from the water.

Do you have nothing to do with wild nightclubs full of drugs? Neither do we. While Ibiza is known for its nightlife, Menorca offers a quieter, almost spiritual atmosphere. The island has various archaeological sites, charming villages like Binibeca Vell and Es Mercadal, and the historic city of Ciutadella with cobbled streets and impressive architecture.
