In these hotels from your favorite movies, you can sleep

Sometimes you get so into a movie that you wish you could really step into that world. Walk the same streets and sleep in the same places. The latter is actually possible. Many hotels from movies are still in use and can be booked for you and me. I’ll list a few beautiful spots. Who knows, you might step into your favorite movie or series on your next trip.
Soma-Byron (Nine Perfect Strangers)
221 Kennedys Ln, Ewingsdale, Australia
For this hotel, you have to make quite a journey, as it is located in Ewingsdale, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. But then you can feel like Nicole Kidman in ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ for a moment. All the indoor and outdoor pool scenes at Tranquillum House were filmed here. Where the characters in the resort end up in a web full of secrets, you as a guest can really relax. The hotel is used as a meditation retreat and has an infinity pool and a yoga dome in the woods.

The Crown Inn (Four Weddings and a Funeral)
16 High St, Amersham, United Kingdom
For a romantic couple's getaway, The Crown Inn in the English town of Amersham is the perfect spot. The hotel was featured in ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral' (though it’s called The Lucky Boatman there), when Carrie and Charles spent the night together. Only the interior of this hotel was used in the film, and it has since been somewhat modernized. But fortunately, you can still sleep in the suite with the same four-poster bed as Carrie and Charles. The exterior of the building in the film is actually from a spot a little further down the street, the King’s Arms hotel. So you find two romantic film locations in the same place. And in just over an hour, you can also be in the heart of London.

Mountain Lake Lodge (Dirty Dancing)
115 Hotel Cir, Pembroke, Virginia, United States
Where we think the story in the film ‘Dirty Dancing’ takes place at the Kellerman Resort in the Catskills in New York, it was actually filmed at a completely different location. The recordings took place at Mountain Lake Lodge in Pembroke, Virginia. That's about an eight-hour drive from New York. And yes, the famous lift was also filmed at this resort. If you stay here, you can even take a tour of various locations that were featured in the film. You’ll receive a special route map with extra trivia about the scenes. Who knows, you might even practice the lift at exactly the same location. It doesn’t get better than this.

Beverly Wilshire (Pretty Woman)
9500 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills, California, United States
The Beverly Wilshire Hotel was once the temporary home of Elvis Presley and John Lennon, but it was also one of the main film locations in ‘Pretty Woman’. You can even book a ‘Pretty Woman For A Day’ package. With that, you stay in a luxury suite, complete with a butler, and take a trip to Rodeo Drive just like Julia Roberts did. Unfortunately, the picnic on the floor and the bathtub scene were filmed on a regular set, although of course, no one is stopping you from recreating it here.

Stoke Park (Bridget Jones’s Diary)
Park Rd, Stoke Poges, United Kingdom
For those looking for a spot for a little getaway just like Bridget Jones, the Stoke Park hotel in the English town of Stoke Poges might just be the place. Locations from various scenes can be found in and around the hotel. Such as the Great Hall where Bridget and Daniel enter, their luxury Pennsylvania Suite, and the lake where they sail together (though I recommend you stay in the boat). And from Stoke Poges, you can also reach London in just under an hour.

The Plaza Hotel (Ocean’s Eight)
768 5th Ave, New York, United States
If there’s one movie that’s all about girl power, it’s ‘Ocean’s Eight’. A completely female group manages to pull off a mega heist. If you and your girlfriend group also want to immerse yourselves in the Ocean’s world, you need to be at The Plaza Hotel in New York. It’s located on the edge of Central Park and is therefore the perfect starting point to explore the city. In this hotel, we first see how clever Debbie Ocean is and how she manages to manipulate everything to her advantage. So be careful with your belongings.

Hotel del Coronado (Some Like It Hot)
1500 Orange Ave, Coronado, United States
This hotel from 1888 is located in the American city of Coronado, near San Diego. The hotel was the set for the film ‘Some Like It Hot’ with Marilyn Monroe. Well, the exterior, that is. All indoor scenes were filmed elsewhere. Although the two locations seem very similar according to fans. Anyone wanting to feel like Marilyn Monroe can wander around the grounds undisturbed.
