Just about Beyoncé's mother and her tight jumpsuit

I had to google when Daniëlle sent us this photo of Tina Knowles in Beyoncé's pantsuit in the group chat this morning. The text read: ‘When you wear your daughter's pantsuit’, something like that. For a moment I thought: is Tina a daughter from an earlier marriage of Jay-Z? I wasn't fully awake yet and understood two things: this was not Blue Ivy, but 2: this could not possibly be Beyoncé's mother. Im-pos-si-ble. But it was indeed. Tina Knowles is just wearing her daughter Beyoncé's body-hugging pantsuit.

It was that I was still in bed, otherwise my jaw would have hit the floor hard when I read that this woman is 70. 70!

Tina Knowles has officially joined the legion of cool grandmothers. This woman's life demands, begs, screams for a biopic of her own. She was a make-up artist for Shiseido in Hollywood until her parents got sick and she returned to Texas to care for them. She was a choreographer and opened a hair salon in Houston that grew into the coolest salon there. She was also, of course, the costume designer for Destiny's Child and later launched a clothing line, House of Deréon, together with Beyoncé, named after Agnes Deréon, Tina's mother and Beyoncé's grandmother.

In addition, she fights for equal rights for men, women, and oh, she took in Kelly Rowland as an 11-year-old girl into their family and considers her a daughter.
