Matcha lovers, this is what you want: the Matcha Martini

By
Matcha Martini

A matcha latte is delicious, but that handsome green drink can be more exciting. How? By making a Matcha Martini out of it. And you can make it easily.

INGREDIENTS
– about 75 milliliters of matcha
– 30 milliliters of vodka
– 15 milliliters of white chocolate liqueur
– A generous splash of simple syrup (sugar and water)
– Some matcha powder for garnish

If you really have no idea what matcha is (it can happen, no judgment): it is a Japanese green tea. The tea leaves are ground and dried into powder, and by mixing that with water or milk, you get matcha tea or matcha latte. It tastes sweet, but also a bit bitter. You have to like it. FavorFlavs Wieke didn't like it at first, but eventually learned to appreciate it.

MATCHA MARTINI
Wieke became a matcha drinker mainly thanks to the Matcha Margarita. A clever tactic to learn to drink something, shall we say. So we know that matcha fits perfectly in a cocktail. I must honestly say that I find the Matcha Martini even more attractive than the Matcha Margarita. Nice and creamy with a beautiful, not too bright green color.

HOW TO MAKE MATCHA MARTINI
How do you make a Matcha Martini? First, prepare the matcha itself. You do this by whisking the matcha powder with some water. Ideally, you do this with a special matcha whisk, but a small whisk works just fine too. Then add the matcha with ice cubes to your cocktail shaker. Fill this with vodka, syrup, and white chocolate liqueur. Shake well, finish with some matcha powder as garnish, and the cocktail evening can begin.

Is this going to be the new Espresso Martini or the exciting version of the (now somewhat overdone) matcha latte?
