Everything I think about B&B

“How long have Els and Robert-Jan been married exactly?”

By
bb full of love

I was a bit behind with B&B Vol Liefde (was busy in Paris), but I set up the Videoland drip yesterday and am now on the same train as you. Just my thoughts while watching the first two episodes.

1. That poor Iris
That you have a man visiting where you already know from minute 1: this is not him. I recognize her behavior so well from back in the day when you had a boyfriend you weren't interested in. Shouting something semi-nice from a distance (“Are you having another cup of coffee?”) and then quickly leaving for the supermarket. I must say she isn't really trying to give him a chance; serving breakfast isn't too much to ask, is it? But oh dear, how endearing it all is.

2. That poor Mike
You have the chance of a lifetime to get all these lovely women into your house, heart, head, and maybe even your bed… and you have a cold sore. And a persistent one too. How many days will that thing stick around? Poor guy.

3. That poor Charlotte
Then a dream of a young woman walks in on Mike who can also cook very well and she suggests having a glass of wine and then Mike says: “No, I’ll have a cola.” In the category of turn-offs, this is quite a strong one, you know.

4. That ridiculous Robert-Jan
With Robert-Jan, you can tick off the entire posh bingo card. And a Cartier watch, and a Range Rover, a dog, a crackling fireplace, a blue-green-beige wardrobe, and an extensive bookshelf.

5. That ridiculous Els
How long have those two been married exactly? Look at them sitting there with a blanket over their legs and a book by the fireplace. Very cozy all, but on the second evening?

6. That incredible Ammarie and Thijz
How do you come up with it? A Thijz with a z, an Ammarie and no Annemarie. These two people seem created for each other. And then her description: artist and forager. What should I imagine with that? Oh, I find them so delightful, those two.

And then still:

1. How many people can you find with a B&B abroad who are also looking for a partner?
2. How delightful are the voice-overs? Tightrope walking between puns and clichés and just not stepping outside the line.
3. May the director and editor on duty receive a medal for their music choice?

I’m going to continue, have a nice weekend!
