Maxima season 2 is fully in the making

These actors play Friso, Laurentien, and Mabel

The somewhat awkward dancing of Willem-Alexander, fleeing from the press together, and a lot of romance. I really enjoyed the series ‘Máxima’. How often do you get a ‘glimpse’ into the blossoming love of a king and queen? We still have to wait for season 2, but fortunately Videoland is already lifting a corner of the royal veil. We are happy to introduce you to the rest of the royal family in ‘Máxima’.

Season 2 continues from the marriage of Máxima and Willem-Alexander to the coronation in 2013. While season 1 mainly focused on their meeting and budding relationship, we will now see how Máxima finds her way in the royal family. This also means that we will meet more family members of Willem-Alexander. This includes, of course, his brothers Prince Constantijn and Prince Friso. Steef de Bot (De Vuurlinie) plays Constantijn and is quite lucky in his preparation. His sister worked with the prince at various startups and can therefore help well with telling specific things about the prince that will assist in his preparation.

Bram Suijker (Vliegende Hollanders) will play Friso, a loaded role because the prince passed away in 2013. Bram called it “painful in a certain way” to RTL. Princess Laurentien and Princess Mabel are played by Abbey Hoes (Costa!!) and Claire Bender (De Joodse Raad). They are also busy reading and watching interviews of the princesses to portray them as accurately as possible. A call was previously made for young actresses for the roles of Amalia, Alexia, and Ariane. But who they have become is still unknown.

The scripts are ready, rehearsals are about to begin, and filming days will start at the end of next month. What we can look forward to are scenes from the famous ski holiday in the Austrian Lech. Some actors still need to practice a bit, but a ski trip is on the agenda. We will also see the love for tennis that the brothers shared. But before that happens, Bram will get a lesson from his TV brother Steef. Our patience will be put to the test, as season 2 will not be released until 2026. That means binge-watching season 1 a few more times, which is not a problem at all.
