On this Italian island lives Giorgio Armani

And you want to go there too

“Are you being careful? The wind can be very dangerous there.” My love and I spontaneously went sailing for a week with friends off the coast of Sicily after we had a wedding. in Palermo. With that wind, it turned out to be okay in the end: we only sailed on the motor, it was that calm, but we were enchanted by all the islands there. No wonder Giorgio Armani and Dolce and Gabbana bought a house there when they were still a couple.

Stromboli
There stands the house of Dolce and Gabbana and the rocky surroundings can be seen, for example, in the advertisements for Light Blue. If you want to get into the mood, you can read the book Stromboli by Saskia Noort . Stromboli is known for the volcano that bubbles nicely.

Pantelleria
Giorgio Armani chose this island for his holiday villa. While Dolce and Gabbana embrace the typical Sicilian and exuberant character in their style, Armani's villa is much stricter and more understated. You can also see the island and the surroundings in his campaigns, such as with Acqua di Gio.

Lipari
Was one of my favorites, as it is also one of the most densely populated islands, which means there are a few cozier streets where you can stroll through. Be sure to order the local wine, Malvasia delle Lipari.

Vulcano
If you want to indulge in peace, you will find the famous mud baths and thermal springs on Vulcano.

Panarea
The smallest and immediately the most exclusive island, where the jet set loves to hang out. Many beautiful boutiques, great and also cozy restaurants, and of course a gem of a marina. I believe we eventually got lost here, but I have suppressed that. I now have my sailing license.

Our dear colleagues from Italiamo wrote a piece about beautiful air B&Bs with endless sea views of the Aeolian islands.
