Why everyone is talking about Saltburn

Great chance that you will be very happy with me, because today I am going to recommend you the best movie of this month — and yes, it has just started. And maybe you have already heard of it, because the whole internet is raving about it and that is completely justified. I am of course talking about Saltburn, starring Barry Keoghan and Jacob Elordi in the lead roles. The latter, I believe, wants to get rid of his The Kissing Boothimage and that makes sense; he mainly made the news because he will play Elvis Presley, but I already know that I prefer this role much more from him.
Because oh, how deliciously grim, exciting, and well filmed Saltburn is. It is described as a ‘gothic thriller’ and it reminded me a bit of Get Out. There is a continuously ominous atmosphere, you have no idea what is actually going on, the only thing you know from moment one is that something is going completely wrong.
Okay, let's dive into the story (without spoilers of course): student Oliver Quick (Keoghan) accidentally meets Felix Catton (Elordi). One thing leads to another and because Oliver needs a place to stay, Felix invites him to his parents' home in the town of Saltburn. And this is not just any place: Felix's aristocratic family lives in a gigantic castle and there he immediately gets to know the entire family.
He stays there for the rest of the summer, at least, that is the plan. Oliver quickly realizes that this is not your average family and as the summer comes to an end, it only gets weirder and weirder. As I said, I won't give you any spoilers, but believe me: you really want to see this one.
Saltburn is a film by Oscar winner Emerald Fennell and has already secured two Golden Globe nominations: one for Best Actor (Keoghan) and Best Supporting Actress (Rosamund Pike). It is available on Amazon Prime.
