See: trailer for new romcom with Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay Lohan has been working on her comeback for a while now and I can only encourage that; after Mean Girls things went a bit downhill for the actress for a while, but she is completely back. I have a suspicion that she might become the new romcom it-girl, because that is where she mainly thrives these days. And especially on Netflix; that is also where she will shine in her next role. The trailer for that has just dropped.
The movie is called Irish Wish and is indeed a romcom, which will be available on Netflix starting March 15. That’s pretty soon — Netflix, why did you wait so long with that trailer? Well, better late than never, and luckily this looks like a top addition. A case of not thinking and just putting it on, and I can personally really enjoy that. Knowing that the upcoming hour and a half will just be mindless watching and you don’t have to think too much about whether the storyline is well put together and believable.
Because it’s not really. Lohan plays Maddie, who is asked to be a bridesmaid at her best friend’s wedding, who is marrying Paul. One little problem: Maddie is also head over heels in love with Paul. She decides to set her feelings aside, but not really: she wishes she were the one with Paul. And as a credible romcom would have it, that wish comes true and Maddie suddenly wakes up as if she is the bride-to-be.
Living the dream right? Nope: she finds out that Paul might not be the man of her dreams after all and that she might have more feelings for someone else… I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I have a strong suspicion that Maddie ends up with the love of her life, although I am actually curious if her best friend is happy with her.
So just a little longer to wait because it will be online on March 15, but the trailer promises a lot of good things.
