The ‘Shaggy Haircut’ is the hair trend of 2024

Through the hair trend of 2024, I get meganostalgic feelings because during my high school years, I always had it cut like this. I didn't call it a ‘Shaggy Haircut’ as this trend is aptly named, but the looks were absolutely the same: lots of layers, even more volume, slightly casual as if you hadn't looked at yourself in the mirror for a second in the morning, yet still chic and a bit styled. Okay, fine: the bangs were missing, because they really do belong in 2024. The Shaggy Haircut actually resembles last year's Wolf-cut (think of Jenna Ortega's hair in the Netflix series Wednesday), only with this look, the length of the hair falls over the shoulders. According to professionals, it works best for someone with an oval, round, or slightly more angular face shape, as it beautifully frames your face. The trend may seem familiar to you and might remind you of the books full of hair inspiration that you can always find in a hair salon. That's not so strange either, because in the ’70s, this style was also very popular, and in 2018, we already saw something similar, with many celebs like Halle Berry, Taylor Swift, and model Alexa Chung sporting this hairstyle.
