Locking a chat conversation is simple: tap on the name of the recipient in a chat conversation and select ‘Chat Lock’ from the list. WhatsApp now offers the option to lock the app with a PIN, fingerprint, or facial recognition, depending on the type of device you are using. By enabling this lock, you add an extra layer of security to your WhatsApp messages, even if someone gains access to your unlocked phone. To enable this feature, simply follow these steps:

Open WhatsApp on your phone.
Go to the app settings.
Look for the option for account settings and select it.
Then choose ‘Privacy’ or ‘Account Privacy’, depending on the version of WhatsApp you are using.
Scroll down and look for the option ‘Lock with Face ID/Touch ID’ (for iOS) or
‘Lock with fingerprint’ (for Android).
Enable this option and follow the instructions to set up your PIN, fingerprint, or facial data. Long press the specific conversation you want to keep ‘secret’, click on the three dots at the top of the screen, and then select ‘Lock Chat’. Then click ‘Continue’ in the pop-up and enter your fingerprint.

Once this lock is set up, you will need to enter your PIN or scan your fingerprint or face every time you open WhatsApp to access your messages. This ensures that someone cannot access your WhatsApp conversations without the proper verification, even if they get hold of your unlocked phone.
