Body & Mind

So sad that there is no solution?

Then you should really try these 3 books

Finding hope in hopelessness, that was what a friend typed in the Google search bar. Her situation so hopeless that a thousand books couldn't bring about change. But she tried anyway and her search led her in a straight line to Edith Eger. I also have a book that helped me through the dark and I would like to share it with you. This is our top 3.

1. Edith Eger – The Choice
Edith Eger is a Holocaust survivor, weighing only 32 kilos when the war ended. Additionally, she encountered more suffering in her life. She is a psychologist specializing in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder. The Choice tells you that we always have the power to look at what we do have instead of focusing on what we have lost.

2. Edith Eger – The Gift
Worse than the Nazi camps, Eger found the prison she had created for herself. In The Gift, she gives advice on how to break free from your own prison, heal, and enjoy life again.

3. Sheryl Sandberg – Option B
Sheryl Sandberg was extremely successful in every way, happily married and a mother of two when her beloved suddenly passed away. Sheryl, who had preached so hard about how a woman can have a top job if she shares family pressure with her partner, suddenly found herself alone. Business-wise, but especially personally, she was in a gaping hole. After a year of deep mourning, she pulled herself up with the help of a friend psychologist. Because we all lead some form of an option B life, you have to face the grief and disappointment in your life. I couldn't find the right translation for ‘to come to terms with it’, but in my eyes, that is what you have to do in dark times. To come to terms with reality. And this book helps you with that.
