Spring is starting, summer is being unlocked. Where are you going on vacation this year and why did you choose this place?

If you had said this around the same time last year (just before my very first glamping adventure) I probably would have laughed, but yes: I am completely sold (especially for my three-year-old son Enzo) we are going to one of the biggest and most beautiful campsites in España. Camping El Delfin Verde Resort on the Catalan coast it is. To be honest, in our case, there’s not much camping involved, as we are staying in a super nicely decorated private house with a pool in our ‘garden’.

By the way, this is not the only place we will be staying this summer. We are going on vacation by car and plan to attach a contrasting place after our camping life, which in our case will be a few different spots, including a place by the sea and a cute boutique hotel. And guess what? Who knows, we might meet our senorita Kiki there. The plans are being made as we speak, so exciting!

Zoom in on that perfect evening. Where are you sitting, what’s on your plate, and who’s at your table?
By the sea, among the locals, in a lovely fresh fish restaurant with family and my best friends and all our kiddos with bare feet (without eating sand, thank you!) jumping in the waves.

Are you the type to plan, book, and finalize everything or do you let it come to you a bit? What is already set and what is still open?
Our camping/minidisco/kids club plan currently only consists of the first stop after El Delfin Verde. We have some options lined up, but nothing specific booked or reserved yet. I say this very confidently, but usually that ‘panic’ hits me a week or two before departure, after which I end up planning much more than we had thought. What I always do under the guise of the most fun vacation anticipation is searching for places via social media. For this, I usually create a special folder on my Instagram or TikTok for each vacation or city trip with all the hotspots.

Is there still a bit of movement or is vacation for you really ‘rest in place’?
My yoga mat is definitely coming along this year. Nothing is as nice and relaxing as starting your day just a bit fitter in the summer outdoor air with some workouts alternating with stretching exercises in a bikini. This way, my ‘summer body’ starts its beach day just a little bit better, to then absolutely end up in that ‘place of rest’.

Have you thought about your summer wardrobe? What’s going in the suitcase and how do you put your outfits together?
Creating outfits is the ultimate anticipation for me. Every year (guilty) I shop for a number of new items that I then try to combine with good basics made of airy, light, and naturally sourced materials. Furthermore, I try to leave without being too heavily loaded by creating a daytime and evening look with one item, for example. Tip: take photos of the sets so that once you arrive at your vacation destination, you still know how you had planned everything, allowing you to make the most of all your clothes that you brought along.

Is there already a playlist made for summer 2024 and what will definitely be on it?
As soon as the sun shines, I blast the playlist ‘Summer 2024 top 100 songs’ on Spotify. From Back on 74 by Jungle and Summer and Feel So Close by Calvin Harris to Passionfruit by Drake and Slide ft. Frank Ocean & Migos. Love it!

Is there already a stack of books ready? If so, which?
Let’s carefully take a stack of magazines with us with the child. Will they finally be opened and read after three years? Surely?

Cocktail or mocktail? Mock, also very nice at the hottest hour of the day.
Museum or beach club? Beach club.
