Are you still looking for a nice spot for your winter sports? Where do you want to slide down the slopes in style? Well, there are four ski areas in Europe that are stunningly beautiful, but also budget-friendly.

To be honest: a bit of cozy wispo is already expensive enough. After all, you have to believe in a tray full of schnapps every day.

1. Jasná, Slovakia
Okay, when you think of skiing, you might not immediately think of Slovakia. But it might be worth it. Why here? Located in the heart of the Low Tatras, Jasná is a hidden gem for budget-conscious winter sports enthusiasts. It offers modern facilities, challenging slopes, and a breathtaking mountain landscape. Plenty of nature. Ski passes here are often up to 50% cheaper than in the Alps, and accommodations are very affordable.
Extra tip: Try the thermal baths nearby after a long day on the slopes.

2. Val Cenis, France
Val Cenis in the French Alps is less known than popular areas like Les Trois Vallées, but it offers equally beautiful slopes at a fraction of the price. It is ideal for families and quiet skiers. A ski pass is much cheaper than in the larger ski areas, and there are regular offers for families. And there are fun things to do. This area has great local cheese farms – definitely try the famous Beaufort cheese.

3. Livigno, Italy
This tax-free paradise in the Italian Alps is known for its affordable prices for both ski passes and shops. The area has an extensive network of slopes and a cozy après-ski. What do you pay then? A day pass costs about €40, and thanks to the tax-free status, you can save a lot on food, drinks, and equipment. There are about ten thousand delicious and affordable pizza restaurants: you definitely won't regret it.

4. Sierra Nevada, Spain
In Spain, on skis? You can't ski further south than this in Europe. This unexpected ski area in southern Spain offers a unique experience: skiing with a view of the Mediterranean Sea. The weather is often sunny, and the area is surprisingly affordable. Spaniards themselves go there on weekends, during the week it is quieter. Ski passes cost about €45 per day, and somewhere to sleep is relatively cheap compared to the Alps. The only downside is that you have to check if there is enough snow, because yes, unfortunately. That earth keeps warming up.
