These are the things you would actually want to tackle immediately after the completion of a new build house.

First things first: your new build house is of course one of beauty when the delivery is finally there. So whether you can or want to replace the things below, it remains a matter of taste and budget. But since I just got the key to my own new build home, I am currently dealing with renovation tips from professionals, tricks that can really make a difference, and especially a lot of inspiration images that I pick from Pinterest and try to show to our contractor. Curious about which things you would actually want to tackle immediately after the delivery of a new build house? I share them with you below:
To get straight to the point...
Replace your ‘standard’ interior doors including frames for a much more luxurious and spacious feel. For example, go for a beautiful wooden, glass, or steel door. Do you want to tackle the doors, but does your budget not allow this? Then at least consider replacing the door fittings for a nice matte black, beige, or brass variant.
Don't forget the stairs
Now that you are getting a new floor, you can perfectly match your stairs to it. The most beautiful option is to let the stairs ‘flow through’ into your floor. This can easily be done with a cast floor, but also with a wooden or PVC floor.
And if you really want to go all out...
Then immediately remove the standard stair spindles, or ask the plasterer to apply a beautifully organically shaped layer over it. It really won't get any prettier than this...
The windowsill
Although there is of course nothing wrong with your current windowsill, it can make a big difference if you have a beautiful windowsill installed in subtle marble, terrazzo, or natural stone effect. This not only allows you to place more accessories, but it also gives an extra luxurious feel in combination with beautiful window coverings.
And don't forget your interior work...
Especially your frames. In new builds, the same color as the outside is often chosen, but in our case, for example, it is dark, while our interior is light. You create much more calm by giving the frames an interior color that blends nicely with the rest of your decor.
Without a niche is a big miss
Also, don't forget to think about niches before the plasterer or tiler shows up. In your shower area, for example, behind your bath, or integrated into a fireplace or TV cabinet. Often, partition walls are needed for this, so it's smart to think about this in time. Prefer to skip a partition wall? Then take a good look around... Do you have a random wall in your house? Check why it's there and what is hidden behind it. Often there is enough space to easily create a nice niche on such walls or to realize a (bio-ethanol) fireplace. This way, you simply and stylishly incorporate a wall that you otherwise probably wouldn't have done anything with.
Oh, and if you would like to see my shell place transformed into a dream spot, or if you're in the mood for an extra daily dose of (budget-proof!) shopping tips, interior inspiration, styling tricks, and easy DIY projects, but especially...
