This is the biggest mistake that business people make on LinkedIn

You want to be visible everywhere, right, these days. So you post something on your Insta, TikTok, and especially your LinkedIn. For your business contacts.
But there are quite a few mistakes you can make on this platform, it turns out. In fact, I encounter them often. And this is the biggest mistake business people make on LinkedIn… Save yourself the blunder.
Well, first of all. Your profile needs to be up to date, your bio should have something meaningful written in it, and so on. You get that yourself.
But what annoys people endlessly is exaggerated self-promotion. As in: bragging too often about how well your businesses are doing. About how incredibly fun your job is. Look, of course, it’s fine to do it once in a while. That’s nice, because otherwise you’re just too quiet on LinkedIn. Being passive isn’t always good either. But promoting yourself over and over again doesn’t interest anyone. Instead, share personal stories about things that aren’t going well. Or talk about where your biggest insecurities lie. How you combine work with private life. Why you didn’t pursue what you studied for. Give your posts a bit more of your own touch. Don’t just tell again that you have such amazing clients. Or that you’ve grown so much this year. That’s personal success, of course, but it’s boring. And it comes off as bragging, ultimately.
And then there’s something I find a bit sad. That is: making it very clear that you’re looking for work. With that ‘open to work’ button. Look, it can yield something for you. LinkedIn is one of the most effective platforms for finding a job. Worldwide, someone is hired via LinkedIn every 15 seconds, which amounts to about 240 hires per hour. Additionally, around 45 million people use LinkedIn each week to actively search for new career opportunities. But still… I would definitely remove it after a few weeks. And then just look for a job the old-fashioned way. If your profile is on ‘open to work‘ for a year, I think you’ll scare people away rather than attract them...
Well, no more mistakes for you from now on. Going into the new year with a bang and a lot of business success, then.
