This is the least safe place in the airplane

The summer holiday is about to officially start, and with this dreadful weather in the Netherlands, the temptation to book a last-minute vacation is greater than ever. Just a few days of sun, that's all we ask. But when booking that sun holiday, you can make a very big mistake when it comes to choosing your seat on the plane.
Research has been done on what the safest place in the airplane is, by looking at statistics of plane accidents. Of course, the chance of a plane accident is fortunately very small, but if it does happen, it's best to sit at the back of the plane. Of the people who were sitting at the back when the accident occurred, 72 percent survived the accident. Whether people sitting by the emergency exit really have a higher chance of survival is not known.
But for those sitting in the middle of the plane, and also by the aisle, the chance of survival is the smallest. 56 percent of the people who sat there survived an accident. As soon as you step onto the plane, you know: the holiday has officially begun. So don't worry too much about these kinds of statistics. The chance that you arrive safely is still almost 100 percent.
