This is the most expensive ski area in Europe (and no, it's not in Switzerland)

When it comes to winter sports, I'm a bit of an oddball. Because: I love skiing. A lot. I think a winter sports holiday is a fan-tas-tic vacation. But: I hardly ever go. And I can really ski down that mountain, I love a good toast with schnapps and if someone cheers at the first snowflakes, it’s probably me.
But somehow it never happens, going on a winter sports trip. Then I have another baby, then we’re off to the sun again, then we’re renovating or moving or I don’t know what. There’s always something every winter. But hey, if you ever want to go, where do you find the most luxury? What is the most expensive ski area in Europe? Surprise: it’s not in Switzerland.
The most expensive ski area in Europe is generally Courchevel 1850, located in the French Alps. This luxury resort, part of the gigantic ski area Les Trois Vallées, is known for its exclusivity and attracts an elite audience of celebrities, royals, and super-rich. And why is it so expensive? Sleeping is pricey, especially.
Courchevel 1850 has some of the most exclusive chalets and five-star hotels in the world, some of which cost tens of thousands of euros per night. But yes, then you can glide down the mountain from your jacuzzi, so to speak. You can also enjoy dining in Michelin-worthy restaurants. And you can shop at Gucci or Chanel, if you’re in a crazy mood. If it can’t get too crazy with your private ski instructor, there are plenty of fancy clubs to sip on Jagermeister. And the next day, you can strut around in your golden ski suit, right.
Played out France? The other two most expensive ski areas that fall into the same category are St. Moritz in Switzerland and Lech-Zürs in Austria. Also nice, so, if you have some savings to splurge. But Courchevel 1850 often remains the top in terms of price and prestige. Saluttttt.
