This is what women think about while masturbating

That not only men, but also women enjoy playing with themselves from time to time, should no longer be a shock. Yet there is still a taboo surrounding female masturbation. Meanwhile, 36% of women find the orgasms they bring about themselves better than those with a lover. On average, women only need 5 to 10 minutes for this, which is significantly less than the number of minutes required to achieve an orgasm during partnered sex. However, men seem to masturbate more often than women. This may have to do with self-love, and men are generally just a bit better at that.
But what do we think about while masturbating? Let's rip off the band-aid: 48% of women think about an ex. Painful, perhaps. But it is also beneficial. Because having these kinds of fantasies in mind makes it easier to remain faithful in ‘real life’. To reassure you a bit more: 37% of women think about their beloved. The remaining 15% think about a celebrity, that handsome doctor, a colleague, and so on. Among men, only 27% think about their partner when they play with themselves. That's almost as many as the men who fantasize about sex with a stranger, which is 26%.
In general, everyone likes to keep their masturbation fantasies secret, but remarkably, men are just a bit more discreet about it than women: 53% of men, compared to 47% of women, remain silent about it. Something that is not mentioned in this research, but seems very logical to me, is that this also has to do with the self-love that women experience less than men. Perhaps women become just a tad more insecure or even jealous when they hear that their beloved secretly thinks about a celebrity or, worse, an ex.
