This ‘La Casa de Papel’ episode is just based on true events

This weekend, the Bulgari store on Via Condotti in Rome was robbed. The perpetrators did not simply storm in through the front door. It feels like an episode of ‘La Casa de Papel’, but this actually happened.

Through tunnels that once served as the city's sewage system, they reached the basement of the store. There, they made a hole in the ground to enter and exit unseen. This made it impossible for the police to catch them once they were on site. Those pipes lead everywhere, so the burglars could have emerged anywhere in the city.

At least half a million euros were taken, and these were not just easily portable jewelry. I would like to know how they managed to take all those items so easily; maybe they have handy tips for when you've been on an extensive shopping spree and struggle to carry all the bags home.
