8 x that score points with your teenage daughter
This is how to improve your relationship

Sometimes I hear my mother, no matter how nice she is, just rambling at me. That I need to clean my room / really need to do my homework now and the age-old you-have-enough-clothes (she really needs to say that; I can barely get the front door open with all the packages that are in the hallway with her name on them).
Of course, a little guidance is part of parenting, but it's also important to maintain a good bond. That's why I made a list of seven things that can make your teenage daughter happy:
1. Letting go a bit
And let your child come home a bit late like her friends (where we like to take the one who can come home the latest as a starting point, thank you).
2. Letting your daughter borrow your clothes / make-up without limits
I mean: isn't it a compliment that we still find things from our older mothers cool and hip? Well then!
3. Being nice and friendly to her friends
I always find it very nice when my mother chats with my friends and is genuinely interested in their lives. I can really be proud of my mother when my friends say that I have a nice mother.
4. When you say: “Awh, it's so expensive, it looks so good on you, so for this one time you can have it from me”
Those are lines, mothers, those are lines.
5. Surprising her with a mother-daughter outing
A spa or shopping day or just going to the movies with those relaxing seats and an XXL bucket of popcorn. I mean: how long are we going to keep doing this? Before you know it, we're hanging out in a student pub in Groningen or Leiden.
6. Letting your child slowly discover life
So don't get too angry if your child occasionally tries something out. This way your daughter will likely remain more honest and open with you, and hey, you were young too, right?
7. Having a cozy movie night together
And then your daughter gets to choose the movie and the snacks.
8. Doing a big room make-over / clean-up together
Let your inner Marie Kondo loose. Cleaning is good for the soul and you are busy together. Moreover, it saves you another nagging and complaining argument.
