These things you put on your vision board for 2025

I can't be the only one who is a bit in shock at the idea that it's almost 2025. In 2024, I was able to achieve things that I had had on my vision board for a very long time. Taking a moment to reflect on that is one of the nicest steps in the process of creating a vision board. Because before anyone coined the term ‘Winter Arc’ vision boards already existed for years. It has always worked very well for me, making goals visible and consciously reflecting on how to achieve those goals. My vision board hangs in a place where I see it daily, but where it is otherwise invisible to others: my wardrobe. This way, I am reminded of my goals every day, and that sets a certain mindset for the day, even when you get up reluctantly; you know what you are working towards.
You can fill your vision board with all your dreams and plans for the new year
Think carefully about which goals are most important to you. Such as in your work area (finally getting that dream job, salary increase of x%), in your relationship (moving in together, starting a family), personally (making more time for yourself by planning better, more often meeting up with friends), or for example being more health-conscious by exercising more or drinking less alcohol. Personally, I find it nice to visualize these goals with photos, and to add one quote or text per subject that makes it extra powerful. I am a big fan of visualization anyway. If you take a moment to close your eyes and envision what your life would look like if you achieved that one goal, you gain so much extra motivation and inspiration. A very important lesson I have learned over the past few years: if you really want something, then you can achieve it. As long as you keep it somewhat within limits, of course, because if you really want to get a million euros without having to do anything for it, you can assume that the chances are high that that won't happen.
Don't demotivate yourself with unrealistic goals
So: an important aspect to consider is whether it is realistic to achieve your dreams within 1 year. If that is not the case, you need to break that end goal down into steps. For example, you can decide to split the dream of buying a house and save a certain amount this year to reach the ultimate goal. The last thing you want is to be disappointed at the end of the year that something didn't work out, while you did your best. You certainly don't have to feel bad if you know that you did everything you could to achieve your goals. Sometimes the timing is just not perfect, and something better eventually comes along. But working on a vision, in my opinion, at least gives a little extra motivation for the new year. Bring it on, 2025!
