We have inside juice about Good Luck Guys season 2

When you think of influencers, offline, back to basics, and jungle probably won't come to mind quickly. And yet, that's exactly what is central in the Amazon Prime show ‘Good Luck Guys’. A group of influencers is taken to a deserted island, where they are stripped of all the luxury they are used to. If you look at the list of names participating this season, you'll understand that it's guaranteed to be drama. Think of: Louisa Janssen, whom you know from ‘Real Girls in the Jungle’, Jamilla Baidou (content creator and singer), and Serge Quik (known as drag queen Sederginne in Drag Race Holland). It's spicy this season, and I mean in terms of tempers. We can already see that in the trailer, so I had to get more inside info.

So when I ran into Glenn Eilbracht (YouTuber and TikToker), I immediately seized my chance to ask him how it really was on that deserted island in Malaysia. Because why would you participate in something like that? For Glenn, it was mainly about overcoming things. We're talking about things like germophobia, but also how it would go in such a group with new people. And of course, a bit of that freedom: no phone, no internet, so really not working at all: “I thought, I'm just going to do it and we'll see. I had quite a few struggles I was dealing with, and saw it as a challenge for myself, without food, drink, and just really surviving.” Dealing with a large group of new people was also an important topic for him, as he was bullied a lot when he was younger, which lasted from grade 3 to the 4th year of high school. But feeling sorry for himself is not his style. “I'm someone who was bullied, but I want to show that despite that, you can really achieve something, I want to inspire other people. You can do anything you want to do, but then you shouldn't just sit in a corner feeling sorry for yourself.”

Traveling to a deserted island is indeed the opposite of sitting in a corner feeling sorry for yourself. Glenn sees the whole experience on the island as something beautiful. Thanks to all the intense moments, but also the beautiful moments and the dynamics in the group, he found himself. “In a way, I'm also grateful to the group. I've learned so much, you really only have each other and nature.” He didn't miss his phone for a second. What he did miss? “My urge: I just couldn't poop. I would go to the beach when everyone was in their hut, squatting over a hole in the sand. After a week, I asked for a pill from the medic, and when it finally worked, an anaconda came out, so big. Out of relief, I forgot to cover it with sand.” I really can't hold back my laughter, how fantastically honest is Glenn? These are the kinds of things everyone wonders about but would never get an answer to (because, well, this doesn't sound very glamorous). And strangely enough, ‘the anaconda’ was one of the few things that no one made a drama out of.

Glenn says he would have run away screaming from the island ten years ago. But now he sees himself as a winner. “I realized that I don't have to be insecure in a large group at all. And I think viewers will also see me grow in the show.” He now also knows that from all the drama, something beautiful always came. There really wasn't a bad atmosphere in the group all the time. “We all look fantastic since the island. But there was a lot of drama, a lot of blood, a lot of sweat, and little deodorant.” The second season of ‘Good Luck Guys’ is streaming from today on Amazon Prime.
