Could your career use a fancy boost? Eat a bit more chocolate. Not only will you be happier with your life, but you'll also be quicker to achieve creative success at work. So go ahead, grab that bar of Tony or BonBonBloc. You won't regret it, because eating chocolate makes you happy and successful.

Look, those are the better psychological studies, right? At least, that's what I think.

Well, first of all, that happy feeling from a bite of chocolate. Chocolate contains substances like tryptophan, which stimulates the production of serotonin (the “happiness hormone”). Additionally, chocolate contains phenylethylamine, a chemical that has effects similar to being in love. Especially dark chocolate is known for its positive influence on mood. How nice that you can actually choose to have a little shot of being in love every now and then? What more do you want for happy feelings?

But your intelligence and brain also benefit from it: you become smarter and more skilled. Research has shown that the flavonoids in chocolate – powerful antioxidants – improve blood flow to the brain. This can lead to better memory, faster problem-solving, and more creativity. In small amounts, chocolate can even help with thinking and brainstorming. If you eat too much, it could become addictive. And you don't want that either.

But okay, in moderation… An excellent plan. Especially in these harsh cold winter months. Yay: which of your colleagues is getting some today? Then we can go ahead and close a million-dollar deal afterwards.
