As a film lover, I regularly go to the cinema. But yes, due to work and study, I can't see all the films. Fortunately, many titles eventually appear on streaming services, nowadays even very quickly. I've put together a list of some recent box office hits for you. This way, you can still watch them, but comfortably from your own couch.

The Iron Claw (Prime Video)

This true sports drama tells the story of the Von Erich family. Father Fritz von Erich is a giant in wrestling and trains his four sons to follow in his footsteps. Reaching the top is fun, but there is also that other side of the coin. ‘The Iron Claw’ is a film about the dangers of competitiveness and the shattering of dreams. The cast includes Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, and Lily James.

Kinds of Kindness (Disney +)

After their previous projects ‘The Favourite’ and ‘Poor Things’, director Yorgos Lanthimos and actress Emma Stone collaborate again. ‘Kinds of Kindness’ is actually a triptych of short films, with the same actors playing different characters three times. One story is about a man trying to regain control of his life. A second is about a police officer who finds his missing wife as a completely different person. And the third is about a woman who is specifically looking for someone to become a spiritual leader. Three completely different stories that are still connected.

Ferrari (Prime Video)

This biographical film about race car driver Enzo Ferrari follows his struggle against bankruptcy. The company he started with his wife is on the verge of collapse in 1957. In one last attempt to save everything, Ferrari throws himself completely into Italy's premier race, the ‘Mille Miglia’. Actor Adam Driver, how fitting, steps into the shoes of the driver.

De Vuurlinie (Netflix)

This Dutch film tells the story of Major Marco Kroon. The soldier received the military Willems Order, the highest Dutch distinction, for his actions in Afghanistan. But later, Kroon finds himself in trouble several times, including due to drugs. In ‘De Vuurlinie’, we see Kroon, played by Waldemar Torenstra, during his missions, but also in the period afterward when he struggles with trauma and the stories circulating about him.

Dream Scenario (Prime Video)

In ‘Dream Scenario’, Nicolas Cage steps into the shoes of Professor Paul Matthews. An ordinary man who doesn't seem to amount to much, his students think he's just a loser. Until he suddenly appears in people's dreams and transforms into a celebrity. His life looks completely different, people worship him. Everything seems perfect, until the dreams turn into nightmares.

All of Us Strangers (Disney +)

Screenwriter Adam (Andrew Scott) still struggles with the death of his parents after 30 years. He regularly returns to his childhood home where he can still see them clearly. Meanwhile, Adam meets his new neighbor Harry (Paul Mescal). The two find each other in their loneliness and a special relationship develops. Inspired by the book ‘Strangers’ by Taichi Yamada.

Buenas Chicas (Prime Video)

In this Dutch romcom, we follow Billie (Susan Radder), an ambitious junior lawyer who sometimes says a bit too much of what she thinks. Dismissal looms over her head, and therefore Billie leaves for Spain with two friends for a wine trip. She hopes to convince the Dutch winemaker Bruno (Juvat Westendorp) to sell his vineyard to her clients so they can build a golf resort. That's not so easy, of course.

An extra tip, too ‘Back to Black’ about the life of singer Amy Winehouse is already available to watch at home. For this film, you do have to pay a few euros to rent it, but that's always cheaper than going to the cinema.
