B&B Full of Love: on the hunt for that ‘just nice’ click
The day that felt like it was endlessly waiting for us was finally here: B&B Full of Love is back. We will have to learn some new names by heart, but with this program, it is absolutely no punishment to dive back in completely. In the kickoff of the season, we get to know four of the nine B&B owners, and they already seem to have two things in common. They start off calmly and find it all very enjoyable. The same goes for the first love guests, although the first tears are already flowing there too.
Love goes through the stomach in Spain
The honor of starting this year goes to Jean-Paul in the Spanish Jijona. Normally, he is the center of every party, but now it’s mainly about making sure the women enjoy themselves. Together with his best friend Rosalie, he selects the ladies who can come to visit him, although he doesn’t seem very picky. He finds all the application videos ‘just nice’ and we will just ‘do’ those invitations. Jean-Paul is going to be busy; this selection strategy yields him seven potential candidates. The Rotterdammer Renate is the first to enter the love arena, and as far as their nerves go, the two at least match each other. The meeting seems a bit awkward, which is of course logical, but Jean-Paul immediately does what he is good at: caring. The snack boards and glasses of cava are never empty, and Renate can hardly refuse the next offered bite. Whether we are looking at the first match of the season right away is still to be seen. The sparks aren’t exactly flying, but both see opportunities and are positive. They find each other and the adventure that awaits them so far, here it comes again, just nice.
Tears already in Greece
We will spend quite some time this summer on Lesbos; at two different B&Bs, with the first being Ingrid’s. She never thought she would sign up for something like this, but here we are and she is ready. Together with her best friend Ruth and pen and paper at the ready, the men are chosen. With each new video, her enthusiasm grows, but Ingrid dares to be critical; not just anyone needs to pack their bags, only the list of cool men. The first on that list is Frank, who fell head over heels for Ingrid’s voice. The woman that belongs to that voice also appealed to him, and now he wants to see if she is just as nice in real life. Let’s say he is quite impressed; as soon as he sees Ingrid, he immediately feels something and that grows by the minute. With her ‘lovely figure’, he has little more to wish for. The two also quickly find their first common ground. They both love animals immensely, and even the names of their former dogs seem to resemble each other. This light conversation suddenly takes a heavy turn when Frank talks about his horse; the first tears of the season have already fallen. Fortunately, Ingrid can appreciate this vulnerability. Neither can mention any downsides yet; the first impression is mainly incredibly nice. But we know B&B a bit by now; with Els and Robert Jan, it all started out so rosy too.
The first obstacle in France
In Illya’s chateau, one thing quickly becomes clear: you won’t lack luxury here. Both in terms of jacuzzis and swimming pools, as well as the worries of the host himself; although he finds breakfast in bed a bit crumbly. After a selection with neighbor Sille, Illya knows that a colorful and especially international group awaits him. The Brabantian Kim is the first to knock and is shown around at quite a fast pace; the B&B owner is clearly not used to someone waiting for him. The first expectations and impressions are discussed, and Kim immediately puts the first stumbling block on the table: the impulsive tattoo she got after her divorce. Illya doesn’t necessarily find it beautiful, but fortunately, he can live with it. A relief, of course; we can put that behind us again.
Clear but striking wishes in Magda’s B&B
A little further on in France, the adventure is also about to begin for 75-year-old Magda. After losing her first and so far only love, she is now ready to meet someone again; with a little support from her son Bas. Magda’s wish list is clear but striking: she is actually looking for someone who is exactly between a brother and a husband. Someone with whom you immediately feel at home, but where those butterflies also come into play. Mother and son review all applications together, and Magda’s smile keeps getting bigger. Where the men were initially allowed to wait a bit so the garden would look nice, they can now come quickly. Gardening hopefully can also be done with a new potential partner.
B&B Full of Love is off
We can actually summarize this first episode in one word: both the owners and the first guests find everything so far ‘nice’; although according to the promo, we can expect the first storm clouds in episode two right away. One thing is clear: we are off to a start.
