The cutest birthday jumper for your child

When your child has a birthday, you want to pull out all the stops to celebrate it. Another year older, where does the time go, right? It's also a bit confronting, because I too am another year older when my boys have their birthdays. My second baby boy – well, baby – has turned one and I shopped the cutest sweater. And the compliments? They were flying around his little ears.
I'm talking about the birthday sweater from the Dutch brand Gray Label. Okay, fine: I also shopped it for Wolf (my oldest) when he turned two, in beige with confetti dots and a green number. But this year they have a really nice basic color in the collection, namely gray. This sweater simply has a pink, green, or blue number on it – no frills. Minimalistic, as we are used to from Gray Label. Whether your child is turning 1, 3, or 10: the number is stylishly placed on the chest (small) and nice and big on the back.
What I love about this sweater? It's not hysterical, and that secretly makes me happy. No flashy colors or glitter letters, just: stylish, sweet, very soft, and comfy. And that's exactly why it stands out. We celebrated his birthday in the park, and we got asked by several passersby where the sweater is from. Combine it with a party hat and voilà : party proof. And far from a wallflower. Jagger has already worn it several times, and Wolf is still wearing his ’2’. He has his birthday again in August and I can't wait to shop a new one for him too.
Pssst: the best thing about Gray Label – aside from the most beautiful clothing? Because the sweater is of such good quality, you can easily save it for brother, sister, or cousin number three. Or, when your child turns a year older, you simply bring the sweater back to the Gray Label Archive Store in Amsterdam. They assess the condition of the sweater and – if it's still nice – they sell it as a second chance. You get a shopping credit for a new, fresh birthday sweater in the next age, or of course something else nice from the collection. Amazing, right?
