Double laced: the street style trend that we now see everywhere

By
A collage image showing the street style trend of double cinched belts. Four women stand close together, with the focus on their waists and belts. The belts vary in style: from wide, gold-buckled black belts to narrow red or brown belts worn over a fur or sweater. The outfits include a white coat with a fur collar, a purple ribbed romper with a furry coat, a dark tweed-like skirt and cardigan, and a brown wool coat with a complex, double belt style featuring metal buckles and thin leather cords.

You would think that one belt is enough on its own. Practical, functional, keeps your jeans or jacket in place. But no, the fashion world had other plans, of course. Under the motto keep fashion weird, we saw the double belt everywhere during fashion week. Two buckles, two straps, and at least two, but sometimes even three, four, or multiple, cinched at the waist or threaded through the loops of pants.

This is how you wear the double belt trend

From Milan and Paris to New York and Copenhagen: the fashion birds have massively cinched their waists to score extra fashion points. Think of wide jeans with two belts side by side, or a blazer that gets extra shape thanks to a duo of narrow leather straps. It’s a mix of Y2K style and utility chic, and we can (strangely enough) get quite used to it à la Ganni. Curious about our favorite combinations from the past weeks? Let me take you along:
