You know how it is: ‘Hey babe, had a nice day?’ ‘Yeah, you too?’ Just both watching your own series, one going to bed a bit earlier than the other, working out separately on the weekend, and making plans with friends.

Are you feeling a bit bored at home? Is your relationship not an exciting spark? Not to worry, research shows. It's a good sign. In the best relationships, things are calm, dull, simple. It's actually a signal that things are good between you and your love. Boring means: no drama. No fuss, no frills. It is what it is, and you don't hurt each other. That's incredibly healthy.

The 9 signs that you have a boring relationship:

1. You communicate little. You don't need to text a lot or talk for hours before going to sleep. You're just together, and that's that.

2. You go to bed earlier than the other or he goes to bed earlier than you, and you both find that okay. And that's usually around 8:30 PM.

3. There is little arguing. In fact: you can hardly remember the last fight. You agree with each other a lot and often. Yawn.

4. You have sex no more than once a month and that’s totally fine.

5. You walk around comfortably in a tracksuit and with a bun on your head and in your UGG slippers. The nice thing is that you don't overcompensate when things are boring at home. You can be yourself, and you don't pretend to be someone else around that person. Not that you are particularly boring, but you have found peace with each other.

6. You also think it's fine if he goes out for the evening and you are home alone . Even lovely sometimes.

7. You sometimes eat separately. Because you prefer different things.

8. His friends are your friends and vice versa. It's one big fun time. Little gossip, little fuss. Life is good. And calm.

9. But in general, boring is not necessarily worse or less. It's good because you have chosen each other and are happy with what you have at home. Could it be, darn it, that little bit of pure happiness? What everyone is looking for? About which thousands bestsellers have been written? Those exciting years may be behind you... But is that a problem? Boring means above all peace, safety, stability, being together, calmness, sweet cookies, and contentment. Nothing wrong with that, I think.
