Everyone wants the same dog as King Charles

Queen Elizabeth always had a horde of corgis frolicking around her (during her reign she “went through” more than 30 corgis), but Charles was a bit less dog-minded. In any case, there has been no dog in Charles' house since the death of his dog Tigga in 2002. By the way, that was a Jack Russell Terrier and not, as you might think, a King Charles Spaniel.

New life in Charles' house

Charles has received a little dog as a gift and it is a Lagotto Romagnolo. Really, I think the labradoodle – the breed of the moment we can say – is now going to face serious competition. The Lagotto Romagnolo is an Italian dog breed, originally bred as a water retriever and later known as a truffle hunting dog. Do you remember when we all wanted a Portuguese water dog because of Barack and Michelle Obama's dog? Well, that seems to be happening now with this Italian breed.

Searches for the Lagotto Romagnolo – he is really on my list for when I ever want a little dog – have increased by 723% since people saw Charles with this dog.

Snuff and Moley

Snuff, that’s the name of Charles’ new friend, doesn’t have to be bored. Camilla recently took in a stray dog, Moley, so there is company. Charles and Camilla love nature and long walks, so these two can have their fun there at Highgrove House.

Brushing time

The Lagotto is known for its thick coat, so Camilla and Charles will often – I imagine this happens in front of a crackling fireplace – have to brush their little Snuff.
