Expedition chat: this is getting very predictable
Episode 3

Day four of the expedition and the fatigue is really starting to kick in now. Oh boys, you still have such a long way to go; well, some of you do. We understand Kamp Noord: sleeping in a sand pit and barely eating is not exactly a party. It would be nice if they finally start winning something. Not just for themselves, but also for us as viewers. A little variation in it. It’s becoming a bit too predictable otherwise.

The ultimate Robinson mindset
It’s one of those mornings where everyone crawls out of their mosquito net groaning and moaning. Even on Bounty Island South, the nights are anything but relaxing. With his ADHD, Koen can’t close an eye at all, and he’s starting to feel it. Maybe he can learn something from Kevin, who is the only one comfortably snoring. I find that impressive. And then there’s the hunger, which is also starting to take its toll. Especially in the North, where everyone has to do without the fruity extras. There, the food is whatever can be eaten. A little sand on your pancake? Why not. Every calorie counts. Even that of a grain of sand, right Vincent? Ultimate Robinson mentality, check. And honestly, I’m happy to adopt that a little. It makes me feel a bit less guilty about my bowl of chips.

The hero of Kamp Zuid
Sleep deprivation And hunger, that’s something you just have to deal with as a Robinson. That immunity challenge really doesn’t take long to arrive. This time it’s a bit easier. And by easier, I mean that the explanation is now clear to everyone at once. Stay standing as long as possible on an increasingly sloping hill, simple right? Well, with a feels-like temperature of 50 degrees, nothing is simple. North is determined to win and puts all hope on Twan. The rest are saving their strength; their ‘leader’ will fix this. Fair is fair: it seems to be happening. But he underestimated the muscle power of pickle prince Camiel. That weightlifting with jars of sour bombs turned out to be the perfect preparation for this challenge. Twan, of course, missed that training. South wins immunity for the third time and Camiel is promoted to king of the island.

Here we go again
A lost challenge means another duel to escape the island council. Nordin has to face Churandy, but he feels that luck is on his side. I have a bit more doubts about Nordin’s intuition; so far, his gut feeling has never been right. For a moment, he seems to prove us wrong, but the Robinson history repeats itself. Tribe yellow has to go to the island council again. Before we go there, just one question: can Churandy teach us how to maintain such a positive and calm mindset even on a deserted island and in the blazing sun? We could really use that Churandy mood.

Twan is the Robinson CEO
It’s just that Roos isn’t wandering around the island anymore, otherwise this episode would be pretty much a copy of last week’s. North loses the challenge, Tribe Yellow then loses the duel, and the scheming about the vote can begin. With Twan again as the shining center: he seems to become the decision-maker again and has conveniently appointed himself as CEO. But as decisive as he was in the last island council, it’s not as significant now. Lies and Demi both receive two votes; after a mini-duel, Lies gets to continue her role as tribe leader. The question is: for how long? With only Nordin there, it’s really not a tribe anymore. Something needs to happen. Dear Kamp Noord, can we agree that you’ll step out of this next week? We’re quite familiar with this routine now. We’d love to be surprised. routine It would be nice if Kamp Noord finally starts winning something. Not just for themselves, but also for us as viewers.
