This is how you save hundreds of euros on your trip
It can be that simple (and it's free)

When I book a hotel, I actually always do it through Booking.com. It's easy and quick, and I like that I can cancel up until quite shortly before the stay. So if I want to be in a popular place during a sought-after period, I book well in advance. If something comes up, I can always cancel without obligation. But there are more reasons to embrace Booking.com and that is their loyalty program Genius.
Better deals
This Christmas period in England I got a discount on our rental car and Genius suggested I book a tour in Oxford. I would never have thought of that myself. And the funny thing was that through these extra bookings, I had moved up a level which mainly means more discounts and better deals.
Discount on your rental car
Signing up for Genius is just a matter of creating a Booking.com account. With that, you immediately start at level 1 and already get 10 % discounts on selected stays and rental cars.
The more you book, the more you rise in the Genius program. To reach Genius Level 2, you need to complete 5 bookings within 2 years. We can manage that, right? To reach Genius Level 3, you need to complete 15 bookings within 2 years. And know that every booking counts. So not just your hotel, but also the rental car or the excursion you make through Booking.com.
What you can “win” is:
- 10-20 % discount on your stay
- Room upgrades (at level 3)
- Free breakfast
- 10% discount on rental cars (that can be nice to rack up)
- Priority customer service at all stays.
Gaudí walk
I not only find it easy, but also fun when Booking.com (and Genius) gives me some tips about venues to visit nearby after making a booking. Like - I did with Oxford, but also earlier during a visit to Paris, Genius suggested I book a guide for the Louvre. This allowed us to skip the line and we had someone with us who told us all sorts of fun stories about the museum and the art. In Barcelona, we did a Gaudí walk through the city. So much fun.
I would say; take a look around and join the club. The more you save, the more you save.
Love,
May
