YAY! Gymshark has opened a new store in Amsterdam. Say no more, I ran over to line up the coolest items for you. This 3-story high store is THE new (not so hidden) gem of the Kalverstraat. Number 178 is now Gymshark territory.
From online hype to Kalverstraat gem
Anyone who lives a bit online knows Gymshark anyway. The British sports brand grew from a bedroom startup to a global fitfam favorite. And now a store in the heart of Amsterdam. This was celebrated in style on Saturday, June 21: music, entertainment, and even the CEO Ben Francis himself was present (how cool).
What can you expect if you want to stop by? A store of over 1000 square meters, spread over three floors (of which 2 are accessible to you) full of the coolest collections.

Amsterdam first, the rest of Europe follows
This opening is special: it is the first permanent Gymshark store on the European mainland. The Netherlands is one of the largest markets. So yes, the choice for Amsterdam was logical. And with more than 9 million visitors per year in the Kalverstraat, it is of course the perfect place for such a mega store. What does this new store offer? Exclusive Amsterdam merch? Check. Can you try everything on? Yes. And just 30 days return, even if you ordered it online? Double check. So: doubts about those high waisted shorts? Just take them with you, you can always switch.
Gymshark is really an experience. Everywhere you find large logos and texts for the perfect Instagram post, and free run clubs and workouts are regularly organized. So exercising and socializing (who doesn't want this). Want to join for a run sometime? Check this account.
These 6 Gymshark items are my faves and you want to shop them now
No time to go to the store or just getting some inspo before you head to the new store? These are my personal faves that you can now also shop IRL in Amsterdam:
First that white cropped tank top. Really that top you put on and think: ‘why don't I have this in five colors?’ Minimalistic, flattering, and goes with everything. A wide leg jeans, a gym legging, a mini skirt: they all say yes to this top. Underneath? Off-white sweatpants - the bottom buttons undone and wow: this is your new look. Chic meets chill, a bit like you've just landed in L.A. for a work trip (read: staycation with yourself and a latte in hand). These pants are so soft that you want to live in them, but the black piping makes them just edgy enough for the street.
Now that we're talking about aesthetics: the sand-colored water bottle. Hydrating is important (yes mom), but in style. This bottle is exactly what you want to have on your desk when you're pretending to be very busy working, but actually throwing your new legging into your shopping cart. For the days when you have just a little less motivation to go to the gym (aka Monday to Friday), there are the sand-colored shorts with an elastic waist. Nice and airy, no fuss, and you still look great. As if you've just come from Pilates, even though you were just baking croissants. And then, last but never least: the light pink Gymshark cap.
