Harvey Weinstein speaks from prison to his ex
And it's nicer than you would think
Harvey Weinstein is serving a prison sentence of 23 years for a staggering 80 cases of assault, rape, and other forms of misconduct. Grab the bingo card of everything that absolutely cannot happen, and Harvey ticks all the boxes. The chance that he, now 72 years old and not exactly the healthiest in the country, will leave prison in anything other than a wooden pajama is quite small. Nil, I would say.
New love for his ex
His ex-wife and mother of two of his five children is Georgina Rose Chapman, a stunning British woman who founded fashion house Marchesa in 2004. The couple was together for over ten years, although that period was not exactly drenched in sunshine. The divorce she filed for – due to sexual abuse – lasted a solid four years.
Love with Adrien Brody
If a divorce lasts longer than the average Hollywood relationship, the chances are high that you find new love during that process. So it is here. Georgina fell in love with Adrien Brody in 2020. That is indeed the man who this week was able to slide his second Oscar into his trophy cabinet. He won the first for The Pianist and now received it for The Brutalist. At both the Critics’ Choice Awards and the Oscars, Brody addressed Georgina Chapman and also her children. He even referred to himself as ‘popsy’, or ‘dad’—something I can imagine would make Harvey Weinstein, the real father of these children, pound his fists against the prison wall.
Weinstein steps out of his role
Because where I see him as a growling predator, Weinstein's reaction surprised me. From prison, he expressed that he was glad his children were being well taken care of.
And Georgina Chapman seems to be as well. You would almost say ‘all's well that ends well’.
