How is Cassie Ventura doing now?
You've been living under a rock if you haven't heard about P. Diddy, the alleged rapes, the baby-oil files, the freak-offs, the white parties and especially that awful clip in that hotel in which you see Cassie, P. Diddy's girlfriend at the time, fleeing barefoot from the room only to be slapped to the ground by ‘Puff’. Cassie caused a hurricane aan reports and charges against Diddy and then seemed to go into hiding himself.
How is Cassie doing?
The interesting thing is that Diddy actually brought all the misery on himself by a stupid statement. At an awards show, when things had been off between him and Cassie for years, he suddenly mentioned her in his thank-you speech. And that pushed Cassie over the edge of doubt. She had tried so hard to extricate herself from his poisonous grip that she couldn't take it that he tried to pull her back into his camp with his thank-you speech. It was almost as if he wanted her to know through the cameras: You are and always will be mine, I have you in my grasp. And that made her so angry that she decided to press charges.
In November 2024, Cassie filed suit against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs for assault and rape. This case was settled, but in January 2025 those horrible images surfaced from 2016 showing Combs physically assaulting her. In response, Cassie shared a statement on Instagram calling attention to victims of domestic violence and stressing that credible victims should be taken seriously. And when she opened the door, the rest of the abused women followed suit.
Meanwhile, P. Diddy is in jail and awaiting sentencing. There is a documentary (The Fall of Diddy, shown on HBO Max) that features his bodyguard, a childhood friend, his personal assistant and other women who say they were raped by Diddy. But from Cassie - understandably, as she wants to distance herself - we hear nothing else.
All she did was post on Instagram thanking everyone for their sympathy. What touched me so much was this sentence:
“The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now. The healing journey is never over, but this support means everything to me. Love always, Cassie.”
Because that's what you wonder: how is Cassie doing now, and will she ever be able to embrace her old self again?
Reasonably on track
She seems pretty much on the right track. She married Alex Fine, a personal trainer and bullrider. Together they have two daughters: Frankie, born in December 2019, and Sunny, born in March 2021. The family lives in California.
Will there be another album?
After her debut album, Cassie released almost no music. People think that P. Diddy wanted to keep her small and mainly give her a ceremonial role in his court. He was the president, she his wife. She now has a sweet husband and two daughters and seems to be carefully opening the tap to her personal happiness.
