Are you booking a trip to Rome? Then definitely go to Prati!

Rome is, just like Paris, always a good idea. I had the pleasure of staying there for half a year and still fantasize weekly about the fact that one day, when I am old and shriveled, I want to buy an apartment there and sit on a bench with my love. I already know which neighborhood: Prati.
Not Trastevere, but Prati
Prati is an elegant neighborhood in Rome, located near Vatican City. It is less vibrant and bustling than Trastevere (which is a bit like the Jordaan of Rome), but it has a classic, refined allure. Prati feels more like a lively yet quiet neighborhood where you can hang out as a local, without too much tourist hustle.
Shopping in Prati
If you love shopping, you are definitely in the right place in Prati. Here you can find high-end fashion. In the main street, Via Cola di Rienzo, you will find brands like Gucci, Tod’s, and Armani. Additionally, there are other nice shops and eateries, and even an Intimissimi if you want to score something new for yourself.
Where to eat in Prati?
When you are in Italy, you must eat well, and Prati is no exception. This neighborhood is known for its fantastic dining spots, such as:
– Il Belli al Trionfale: You had me at the extensive wine list! Here you will find delicious dishes and a top selection of wines.
– Pizzarium di Gabriele Bonci: Pizzas, but just a little different. Think creative toppings and a flavor experience you won't forget quickly.
– La Pratolina: This is truly a local favorite where you feel like you are dining at a cozy family business. The food is great and the atmosphere is always top-notch. And what's nice about Prati: it’s not super well-known among tourists, so you eat here like a true local.
My tip for your trip to Rome?
If I were to go to Rome, I would definitely use Prati as my base. Here you really get the feeling of living in the city as a local. From Prati, you can easily make day trips to other neighborhoods like Testaccio, Trastevere, and the Roman Forum. But after a long day of sightseeing, it’s also wonderful to return to the peace and charm of Prati.
Prati is the perfect combination of luxury, tranquility, and authentic charm. It completes your Rome experience.
