Monthly, I consume quite a bit of lip glosses. I always have a few in my bag and a couple of times a day I apply a nice layer. Especially in the summer: a little extra blush on your cheeks and cheekbones, a bit of highlighter, a lovely shiny gloss on your lips and your look is just ready. Whether you have a beach day or a day full of meetings: with a little glow on your face and lips, you always look a bit fresher and better, right? So recently I discovered two products – yes, yes, I often stand in front of the shelf searching for new gems – and this time my eye fell on the new Max Factor: the 2000 Calorie Lip Glaze Schaduwuitbreiding and the Miracle Pure Luminous Touch Balm Duo (or: blush and highlighter in stick form – and yes, you want both). If you think it can't get any prettier: oh yes, it can.

Max Factor’s 2000 Calorie Lip Glaze is not just any ordinary, vegan gloss. It is a non-sticky (which I am a big fan of) glossy layer for your lips, with a plumping effect without that annoying tingling sensation that some glosses have. Thanks to the nourishing ingredients like hyaluronic acid and squalane (in other words: hydration squared), your lips stay supple and soft. And for everyone who, like me, loves sweet: the Lip Glaze smells like soft vanilla milk. As if you are spreading a milkshake on your lips. The substance may be a bit thicker than you are used to, but that makes this gloss just so beautifully shiny. It fits perfectly into this year's TikTok beauty trend: glass lips, or the ‘glazed look’.

The Pink Fizz and Cotton Candy – just the names are delightful – have had a permanent place in my bags for a while now. And recently, there are four new colors added (now a total of thirteen): First Sip, Favorite Song, Soft Kisses, and Chocolate Glow. You apply the balm to your cheeks and easily blend it with your fingers for a lovely blush effect. But blush doesn't have to be just on your (apple) cheeks anymore. Feel free to apply some extra over your cheekbones and on your lips for a fresh, pink look. Blush can go everywhere, and that makes me so happy.

My tip? You can apply the balm directly to your skin, but if you prefer to build it up naturally (or find it a bit exciting): first apply some to the top of your hand, warm the balm a bit by rubbing your fingers over the color, and then dab it with your ring finger on your face. That finger is the softest, and this way you can work precisely and build the color more easily.

The Highlighter Balm is available in Soft Pearl (for light skin tones) and Rose Gold (for medium to deep skin tones). This is really a multitasker. Of course, you use it on your cheekbones, nose bridge, cupid's bow, and under your eyebrows. But even more fun: wearing a strapless dress or top? Then apply some to your collarbones – it looks so chic. Or wearing a blouse or V-neck? Then follow the line towards your décolletage for a subtle, sexy glow. Last but not least: apply a nice body lotion or SPF to your legs, then use your fingertips to apply a bit of highlighter to your shins – for that healthy, cared-for glow.
