New on Netflix in February

Just a pat on the back for all of us, we have managed to get through the gloomy month of January. And although we still have to search hard for a bit of sun in February, we are one step closer to the end of winter. To maintain this positive mood, Netflix is adding a whole bunch of new titles again. I will go through the best movies and series with you, so you can breeze through this month as well.
The Fifty Shades series (February 1)
Although it is still the heart of winter, we will not be cold in February. The steamy relationship of Anastasia (Dakota Johnson) and Mr. Grey (Jamie Dornan) will significantly raise the temperature in the house. What starts as a business interview quickly turns into a lot of passion. Netflix goes all the way and adds all three Fifty Shades films. So the next date nights can be planned; who knows how the evening will end.
Apple Cider Vinegar season 1 (February 6)
Don't be misled by the title, ‘Apple Cider Vinegar’ is definitely not a cooking show. The series follows the story of wellness guru Belle Gibson (Kaitlyn Dever). When a brain tumor is found in her, she decides to fight the disease naturally. She focuses on healthy eating and lifestyle and shares everything on social media. Together with her best friend Milla Blake (Alycia Debnam-Carey), she manages to build a huge platform. Sounds inspiring, right? The problem is that Belle made everything up; she was never sick. What makes the series completely bizarre: it is based on a true story.
La Dolce Villa (February 13)
What could be better than feeling like you are in a warm vacation destination for a moment during those cold winter months? That is possible with ‘La Dolce Villa’. Businessman Eric Field (Scott Foley) travels to Italy to prevent his daughter Olivia (Maia Reficco) from spending all her money on renovating an old villa. But once he arrives, he is overwhelmed by the beauty of the land and the people, and old passions are rekindled. Maybe this wasn't such a bad idea after all.
The Åre Murders season 1 (February 6)
Good news for all my fellow crime lovers: this month we can enjoy a new crime series again. One from Sweden, so it can hardly go wrong. Detective Hanna Ahlander (Carla Sehn) is suspended from her job in Stockholm and decides to retreat to her sister's vacation home in the village of Åre. When a woman goes missing there, Hanna can't help but dive into the case. Due to an understaffed police station and personal problems, officer Daniel Lindskog (Kardo Razzazi) has no choice but to accept her help. The question remains whether the two can trust each other.
Love Forever (February 14)
We stay in Sweden for a very different genre. Perfectly timed for Valentine's Day, the romcom ‘Kärlek Fårever’ (Love Forever) is released. Hanna (Matilda Källström) and Samuel (Charlie Gustafsson) hope for a quiet and intimate wedding day in the countryside of the Swedish island of Gotland. Their families, however, think differently. They want the couple to adhere to all sorts of hysterical traditions. The day turns into one big chaos full of arguments and a fleeing bride. Quite a different start to the happily ever after they hoped for. Let's see if this film is just as good as all the crime gems.
Love is Blind season 8 (February 14)
Whether you have a lover this Valentine or not, there is plenty of romance. This eighth season takes place in a new city: Minneapolis. For the five-year anniversary of ‘Love is Blind’, they are going all out with an extra large group of 32 singles. All of them are looking for love; but if we are to believe the trailer, they first have to overcome a lot of lies, jealousy, and existing relationships. Clear your schedule, you don't want to miss this.
Squad 36 (February 28)
Netflix knows how to end the month with a bang with another new crime thriller. This time from French soil: ‘Bastion 36’ (Squad 36). Police officer Antoine Cerda (Victor Belmondo) is part of the Investigation and Intervention Brigade but is transferred to another unit as punishment. He manages to leave his old team behind, until two of his former colleagues are murdered. When a third goes missing, Antoine can no longer do nothing. He starts his own investigation and discovers an intense rivalry within the police.
Could your watchlist use some more additions? These titles are also coming next month.
