The sad story of Jessie and D’Lila the twins of P. Diddy

The trial against P. Diddy is nearly concluded and reaches an emotional climax for all involved. This week, P. Diddy's twins, D'Lila and Jessie, left the courtroom in tears where their father is on trial for sexual abuse, assault, and rape — some of the victims were minors at the time of the alleged incidents.
Support for P. Diddy
Despite the front pages and websites being filled with the most terrible things their father is alleged to have done, their love for him remains unshaken. On June 16, they posted on their joint Instagram — the Combs Twins have 783 thousand followers — with a tribute to their father:
Happy Father’s Day to the best dad in the entire world. We love you so much, words can’t even explain. You’ve always been there for us whenever we needed you no matter what. Through thick and thin. We appreciate everything you’ve done for us and we couldn’t ask for a better dad. The bond we have is inseparable and unplacable. We are so blessed to be given a dad as great as you are. We love and miss you so so much.
Note: “unplacable” seems to be a mistake in their post, likely intended as “irreplaceable”.
Cocaine on the children's clothes
For Diddy, this must have been a welcome support amidst all the attacks, but it is remarkable. The former nanny of the girls, Dawn Drago, claimed in 2013 that the girls were not well cared for. Their mother, Kim Porter, regularly smoked marijuana in their presence, and drugs were easily used in the house. The girls once found a bag of cocaine on the back seat — which mother Kim dismissed with the comment that it was ‘medicine’ — and there was even cocaine on their clothes once when they were at daycare.
Dad in prison, mom in heaven
The girls have certainly not had an easy life. Five months before their birth, their father, P. Diddy, had a daughter, Chance, with businesswoman Sarah Chapman. When the girls were twelve years old, their mother passed away. A grief they say they struggle with every day.
Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother. She was our world and nothing has been the same since she passed,
the girls wrote on Instagram on September 25 in a plea not to tarnish their mother with suffering and, in their eyes, untruths.
Graduated without their parents
And then there was the day when you normally get to throw your graduation cap in the air and are celebrated for passing your final exam. And there stood Jessie and D’Lila. Without mother, without father. One deceased, the other in pre-trial detention. The verdict is expected in October this year. So for now, the girls remain alone.
What is the current status of P. Diddy?
I can't see the forest for the trees, so let's summarize the status:
- Conviction: Found guilty of two counts of transporting persons for prostitution, with a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
- Acquittal: Found not guilty of charges of human trafficking and conspiracy to form a criminal organization.
- Charges: In addition to the criminal case, there are over 120 civil lawsuits against Combs, in which he is accused of sexual abuse, assault, and rape — some of the victims were minors.
- Detention: Combs remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, awaiting his sentencing, which is scheduled for October 2025.
