She is here: the Louis Vuitton make-up line is here

The PR box has been going around for a while, and lord, how we would love to hold that in our lacquered hands. We can guess it will be good, because none other than one of the biggest make-up artists in the world, Pat McGrath, is the creative director of La Beauté Louis Vuitton. Her make-up is known for its impressive pigments and great performance on the skin. She colors every face at fashion shows and with celebs like Taylor Swift – and now also your face.
Let’s summarize…
How much does it cost?
Louis Vuitton is not a luxury brand for nothing. So it’s no surprise that the prices are quite high. ‘Quite’ might even be an understatement, because you can easily spend your grocery budget on a €250 eyeshadow palette.
Are they really good?
That the products look amazing and feel luxurious, everyone on the internet agrees. But how do they really work? Are they worth the money? They have already been massively tested online. The lipsticks are – as Pat McGrath always delivers – well pigmented. The satin gives a nice shine and the matte is, as you would expect, strongly mattifying without looking dry. Some in the comments claimed that the lipstick lasted for hours, even after eating and drinking.
And the eyeshadow? In swatches on the hand, it is clear that they certainly deliver color. Are they as pigmented as paint? No, not that. But that allows you to easily build up the intensity.
Jeffree Star, known for his utterly honest make-up reviews, is happy with the launch. The mattes perform well and feel buttery soft.
Not everyone is happy with the launch, though. Especially in the comments under reviews, it is clear that people are not satisfied. The prices are ‘ridiculous’ and especially about the glitters in the palettes, they are not pleased: they are hardly visible, according to the comments. The testers, on the other hand, are enthusiastic.
What kind of accessories are there?
Louis Vuitton previously indicated that they would come out with beauty cases. Eight different items have been released, from small bags to lipstick trunks. And they are not only in the traditional LV brown, but also in white, red, burgundy, and pink.
Check out the Louis Vuitton beauty accessories

The Nice BB
In this small vanity case you may not be able to take all your belongings with you, but at 14.5 centimeters wide, there is really some space. Especially if you stick to your new collection of lipsticks, you’re good. This bag is available in brown, burgundy, bright red, and pink.

The Nice Mini
Even smaller is the mini version of the Nice bag. Ideal for organizing your make-up in your bathroom. Here you can store face masks, nail polish, or other products that you prefer not to have lying around naked on the bathroom furniture.

The Cosmetic Pouch PM
A a real bag for our on-the-go gals. This round ‘case’ is no less than 12 centimeters high and 6 centimeters wide. It fits in your work bag, overnight bag, gym bag; you can take this case with you whenever and wherever you want. Perfect for your touch-up. And how cute is that in pink?

The Nice Beauty
Of course, there’s another little bag that you can add to your collection. As if there weren’t enough already.

The Nice Nano
Do you want a just slightly smaller variant? Then the Nano is for you.
The Cosmetic Lipstick Pouch
When you come out with lipsticks, you come out with a lipstick pouch out. This little thing clips right onto your bag and then you're off. This is the solution to protect those expensive items from all the enemies you encounter in your bag, and to not lose them in your mountain of stuff.

The Eyeshadow Pouch
Your eyeshadow palette has also been considered, it has – just like your lipstick – its own bag. Yes, that eyeshadow doesn't carry itself. And you can also clip it onto your bag.

The Trunk Lipstick Case
Not in the mood for a bag? Then there is also a trunk. Yes. A trunk. For your lipsticks. I didn't expect it either, but it's there. With a mirror and red lining, this trunk is very nice on your vanity. A little gadget, then.
Mattyfing Paper Case
Bothered by too much shine? It's fun to shine like a diamond, thanks Rihanna, but if you don't want to look like a deep-fried doughnut, then mattifying paper might be for you. And LV just happened to release their own paper and paper holder Yes... It might not have been on your wishlist, but it can certainly be handy.
And then... Is Louis Vuitton makeup worth it?
That's what everyone is wondering. I, as a makeup lover, would love to receive a few lipsticks or those eyeshadow palettes. Even if it's just to have them, because the look of the products is an accessory in itself. They are must-have items that you carry with you, just like a Labubu, but then a very expensive one.
In terms of performance, the products do quite well. The lipsticks are beautiful, the balm is hydrating, the eyeshadows perform reasonably and come in all colors of the rainbow. There are also plenty of accessories. If you want to go all-in, then these are for you.
So there is plenty of choice, but personally I think this is mainly something for the über-makeup lovers among us. If you don't have 100+ euros to spare for makeup and accessories, then you might want to pass on this bowling ball. After all, you can't always strike. But if you do have such a budget, go for it.
