The friendship that seemed to survive everything: Taylor and Blake

Taylor and Blake were besties with a capital B for years. Matching outfits, birthday parties, award shows, Blake’s kids even feature in Taylor’s song Betty. But that perfect Instagram friendship now seems to be permanently passé.. It’s all about a complicated lawsuit between Blake Lively and actor/producer Justin Baldoni. Taylor seemingly had nothing to do with this – until suddenly her name popped up in an explosive lawsuit.. The gossip that escalated the case.

According to documents filed by Baldoni’s legal team, Blake Lively allegedly pressured Taylor to publicly choose her side. And if she didn’t? Then Blake could leak “personal texts” between her and Taylor. Yep, this sounds like a bad script, but it’s really in court.

On top of that: Blake reportedly asked Taylor to delete their entire chat history. Taylor, who already felt uncomfortable with the whole situation, decided to completely withdraw. And maybe she should have left it alone – if her father hadn’t gotten involved.

Enter: Scott Swift.

Scott Kingsley Swift, former stockbroker at Merrill Lynch, proud father of Taylor, and recently: unintended main character in a celebrity feud. Scott allegedly told Baldoni’s legal team about Blake’s threats towards his daughter. Why? Because they hoped Baldoni would then drop the lawsuit against Taylor. And that’s exactly what happened. But the bomb had already exploded by then.

Who is Scott Swift anyway?.

Scott is not just any ‘dad’. He is a man who has supported his daughter from day one, moved to Nashville to support her career, and played an influential role behind the scenes for years. That behind-the-scenes role is suddenly over because now he seems to be one of the most googled people on earth.

Why this involvement is causing such a stir.

In celeb-land, there’s often one golden rule: keep your family out of your media relationships. Especially when it comes to public feuds. But in this case, Scott apparently felt he had to intervene. What started as an attempt to keep his daughter out of a legal nightmare ultimately became fuel to the fire.

And now? According to sources, Taylor has said she regrets her friendship with Blake and that “it wasn’t worth it at all.” The once heartwarming Hollywood friendship is over. Also notable: Taylor’s boyfriend.

The chances are high. After years of glamour, outfits, videos, and mutual support, the fairy tale seems to be over. And Scott Swift’s involvement? It mainly shows how protective parents can be, even when their child is world-famous, a billionaire, and mid-tour.
