If there is one thing I love, it’s scented candles. Big, small, quirky holders, fantastic scents – name it and I have it. I love to wander from store to store in search of the absolute best. Luckily for you, you don’t have to dive into that deep obsession hole like I do, because I’ve lined up the top 10 scented candles of the moment for you. Isn’t that nice? Light the candles, sit on the couch with a blanket, and then you hear that crackling of the candle. I’m already rambling too long, just read on quickly.
Okay, okay. Caught. This isn’t necessarily a ‘fall’ scented candle. No, that’s true. But – big but – it smells really good. There’s something magical about entering your kitchen and smelling fresh herbs. This is just such a nice fresh scent. I once smelled a basil candle from ZARA HOME that was in a rough stone holder, I think two years ago. And people? This was truly life-changing. Even to this day, it’s one of the best candles I’ve ever smelled. So this one is just to fill that gap. But that was enough trauma dumping for today, just buy this one.
What’s better than pumpkin, vanilla, and chai? Nothing. These scents are so autumnal. I’m already getting excited to walk through an orange-colored forest, breathe in the fresh morning air, and drink a pumpkin spiced latte at my favorite café. And for that price? I’ll definitely take it. Even if it’s just for that cute pumpkin shape. Amazing.
Cardamom and – yes, here we go again – sandalwood. That sounds like a match made in heaven. Anna and Nina thought so too, because this candle is a real bestseller on the website. Think cinnamon, clove, and crispy wood. Delicioso. First of all, it looks cute in that red casing, but it’s also really good. And vegan. A tip for your own good.
Yes, how can we make a candle list without a Diptyque candle? This amber-colored candle smells (very surprisingly) like amber. This is a real explosion of scents: earthy notes of vetiver, spicy, musky hints of patchouli, warm anise, powerful spices (delicious), incense, warm sweet cistus, and almost vanilla-like tonka bean. There you go. That’s a lot. And it all fits together perfectly. Can you smell it yet?
A candle from our own soil. This Dutch label has New York candle quality because the owner, Giselle, turned her whole life in the security industry upside down after receiving a scented candle gift to learn how to make candles in New York. She came back with a lot of inspiration: Brandt candles. Made from soy, which is much more sustainable and better for your health: the wicks are lead-free and no paint has been added. We are fans of these vegan candles, like the Wild Tobacco. The smoky, woody scent is exactly the soft scent you want to smell while sitting on the couch with a cup of tea.
Look, those Jo Malone candles are super expensive, but then you take a smaller size? You can immediately test whether you actually like that scent. You will definitely enjoy this: the pomegranate scent is enhanced with burnt guaiac wood. It makes you doubt whether you have a fireplace or not, because this is such a burning scent. It feels like you’ve suddenly landed in the Cotswolds in the British countryside, in a cottage by a big, roaring fire.
Candles from Rituals can already be a guilty pleasure, so this is really something to invest in. The limited edition Intuitia candle is an example of this. This floral, woody scent creates a calming atmosphere due to the sandalwood, saffron, and vanilla. And the best part? It burns for up to 50 hours. Unbelievable.
Imagine this: it’s Christmas Eve. You’re cozy on the couch in your Christmas pajamas. Love Actually has just ended and then suddenly the oven pings. The cookies are ready. As they come out of the oven, there’s a scent that suddenly fills every corner of the room: gingerbread. Ah, don’t you want that? I certainly do. You don’t even have to bake for it; just buy this delightful scented candle. Does the job as well.
You might not know this one yet, but that’s about to change. This Swedish candle brand is fantastic. They are handmade, you can tell; because this ceramic holder looks icy beautiful. With that grapefruit, saffron, and juniper, you get a very clean scent throughout your house. The further the candle burns, the more scents escape: leather, violets, raspberry, vetiver, and cashmere wood. The mix of refreshing and warm, soft scents creates a nostalgically calm atmosphere.
Yes, what sounds better than a winter evening? Snuggling up on the couch with a blanket, lighting the candles, and watching Home Alone. Amazing, right? When you smell all the notes in this candle, you already get the winter tingles: delicious caramel, cinnamon, ginger, and warm vanilla. This candle breathes winter.
Does it already smell like a candle shop? Unfortunately, you can’t smell through your device, but if you could… Then you would smell all this deliciousness. Make your choice quickly and stock up on some scented candles, it makes it just a bit cozier. Oh, and one more tip: check out TK Maxx. They often have a lot of scented candles in all sorts of special holders and also at a much lower price. Those lovely English brands. Can you already smell that I’m obsessed with scented candles? Yep.
