The ultimate birthday dinner menu

I am almost having a birthday and that means there is a birthday dinner waiting on the doorstep. For all the girls who are also going to celebrate their birthday this year with a big dinner, I can speak of stress. Yes, because what kind of food do you serve to a large group of people, without it taking too much time in the kitchen? I am going to help you, because this is the tastiest birthday dinner menu.
As a starter:
Roast slices of eggplant, place them on a deep plate, stack tomato sauce, burrata, and parma ham on top, do this again and make sure your tower doesn’t fall over. Top it off with balsamic dressing and voila, this delicious little cake is perfect as a starter. Do you want some extra treats to fill the table and your guests? Then roast some rolls with olive oil until golden brown. Blend ricotta, olive oil, salt, and pepper together and put it in a piping bag. Drizzle a thick layer of your mixture over the rolls. Chop herbs of your choice finely and mix them with olive oil, chili flakes, pepper, and salt. With this green sauce, the rolls get a spicy touch and that extra bit of flavor.
As a main course:
At a dinner party you naturally have to consider everyone’s dietary wishes and your wallet. And let the main course be the hardest to come up with something good. What is better than a easy peasy pasta pesto? You can prepare this the morning before and serve it in the evening by just warming it up and topping it with pine nuts, arugula, and a few tomatoes from the oven. For the pesto pasta itself: cook cannelloni pasta in salted water in a pot and while this is cooking, you can start on the sauce. Chop an onion into small pieces and sauté in the pan together with garlic. For those who want to cook extensively: mushrooms, bell peppers, zucchini, and/or grated cheese would also go well with this pasta. Add pesto and crème fraîche. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and Italian herbs. Mix the sauce with the pasta and ta-da! How easy was that?
As a dessert:
You naturally have to steal the show with your guests when it comes to dessert. And what better way to do this than with a lemon posset? Cut a lemon in half and scoop out the flesh. Start by heating cream and milk with sugar, lemon juice, and the flesh from the lemon until it almost boils. Whisk egg yolks with vanilla extract and a bit of sugar, and carefully add the warmed mixture. Put the mixture back on the heat and warm it until it thickens, making sure it doesn’t boil. Strain the cream and divide it over small bowls or into the hollowed-out lemons, then place them in the fridge for at least 4 hours. Sprinkle a layer of sugar on top the evening you are going to serve it and caramelize with a torch. This way you have a delicious crème brûlée-like lemon posset.
Hopefully, your birthday dinner will be absolutely amazing with this inspiration and a night to remember. Enjoy!
