Fan of Babygirl? This is Nicole Kidman's next thriller

Choosing the next movie or series to watch is always a challenge. For me, the cast is often very decisive; because if you know that someone like Nicole Kidman is in it, it can't really go wrong. She has proven that once again with ‘The Perfect Couple’ and certainly with ‘Babygirl’. Just a little longer and we can enjoy her again, as her latest thriller ‘Holland’ will be released on March 27, and it definitely deserves a spot on your watchlist.
Not so perfect after all
Nicole steps into the shoes of Nancy Vandergroot, a strict teacher and housewife who lives with her husband and son in tulip-filled Holland. Unfortunately, not our own country, but a small place in the state of Michigan. Although Nicole will surely want to come by at some point with her now good friend Halina Reijn Nancy's life seems completely perfect, but that changes when she suspects that her husband Fred (Matthew Macfadyen) is leading a double life and hiding an affair from her. Together with her colleague Dave Delgado (Gael García Bernal), Nancy tries to discover what is going on. The further they go, the greater the realization becomes that nothing in their life is as it seems, and that her husband's secrets are much darker than they ever thought.
Just a moment of patience
The big fans might already know, but we had to wait quite a while for this movie. The arrival of ‘Holland’ and Nicole's involvement as the lead actor and producer were announced back in 2022. The script is even much older: in 2013, it won the award for best script for an unwritten script. Now everything is finally completed and our patience will be rewarded. According to director Mimi Cave, she drew inspiration for Nicole's role from her earlier character Suzanne Stone Maretto from ‘To Die For’ from 1995. According to Cave, we see another side of Nicole that we haven't seen in her recent projects. comedic lead role with an undertone and I knew she had that in her, but maybe she just hasn't played such a role in a while. She is so funny, so incredibly funny.” The director has nothing but praise for the actress and their collaboration. “She is truly incredible to watch and she is someone from whom I have learned a lot. It was quite an amazing experience for me.” Just a little more patience and then we can see the final result. The first images already make us very curious.
‘Holland’ will be available on Prime Video starting March 27.
